1. As I said in my PM, Rich, don't worry about it. I think the crucial factor for it is to be kept in a stable temperature. It has been in heated rooms for the last couple of weeks and is performing perfectly. My house does tend to get a bit cold at night and that is what induces the forward bow. These things happen, that's life. Just a Friday afternoon neck. I wouldn't like to shave the neck any thinner than it already is. Probably end up exposing the trus rod. I remember one of Iron Maiden's guitarists doing that.
2. Thanks Mart. Looking at the back of the neck I think it is just a badly made neck. It is thicker in the middle than it is at each end, if you see what I mean. As long as the bass is warm it plays beautifully. Dave Reaume of 'Dave's World of Fun Stuff' on YouTube had a live stream recently. I put the problem to him. He seemed to think the neck was just a big pile of s%@#.
3. Just one question I'd like to ask; can you give some information about the bass?
4. I'm just moving to a fiver E-A-D-G-C. I tried TI Jazz Flats 100-43 and bought a single 30 from Stringbusters. Worked really well. I've also put a set of rounds on just now. I had a set of Hot Wires 95-35 in the house so put them on and bought a single 25 from Status. Works really well too. If you are using your 100-45 set you might be best to buy a single 30 or 35 string for the C to keep things balanced. You'll also have to do a setup as there will likely be a higher tension with the C string.
5. This is why these build diaries are so useful. Doing a great job.
6. It's looking great so far Rich.
7. The ever-so-nice people at Strings Direct can provide you with one of these. 8. You could buy a radius sanding block and level the fingerboard to your required radius. Can't go wrong for £11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3984.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.Xradius+sanding+block&_nkw=radius+sanding+block&_sacat=0&_from=R40
9. I'm not sure I understand your neck relief measurement. 2.2mm is a hell of a bow. If you straighten the neck out a bit then that will probably allow you to raise the saddles a bit. Straightening the neck usually lowers the action. I set my neck relief at about 0.30mm. 1.8mmG and 1.9mmE is pretty low too if you like to dig in.
10. You went ahead and bought one, Rich. Best of luck with it. I'll look forward to updates.
11.
It's come to my attention that some people seem to passionately dislike the Markbass speakers/cabs, describing them as being wooly, undefined, and flappy, with poor dispersion, tone, etc, etc.
It has come to my attention that some people like Fender basses. I tried one recently when I bought a couple of pedals. Wish I hadn't. Chunky with an action higher than the Tyne bridge. Not to my taste at all. Subjective, you say. That about sums it up. I love my CMD121P. Never been happier with a sound. Just occurred to me. Maybe it was hearing Fenders through a Markbass that made them sound wooly, undefined, and flappy. Scuze me while I run for my life.
12. That'swhy it's always worth experimenting, you might just find a new setting you like. If it works for you, go with it. And heed gjones' advice too.

14. Great! Make lots of music and put some of it in the December competition.
15. In Band in a Box that I use there is a drop down window that allows you to select the MIDI channel you want. Can't speak for Reaper as I've never used that. Maybe look for a MIDI icon or button on Reaper and see what that says. Took me a wee while to fathom out my MIDI-USB cable before it worked. If it's an older keyboard like your Technics then it might just be firing out on one channel. Again there might be some button on it to do with MIDI. You could just be a bloke and press them all til you find what you want. I found the cable option worked fine for me once I had it working. Band in a Box can run my synth modules no problem through it.
16. I'd have thought most PCs would have a 'mic in' somewhere on the back. My HP certainly has.
17. Yes. Click the menu button, scroll over to 'Camera' and click. Select off and then return to main screen by pressing 'Menu' twice. That sets it up to record sound only. Take a line out to your computer and once it is switched on it is a live mic. You could just record on the Q3 and copy across from the SD card as well.
18.
I have a midi - USB cable but nothing happens when I plug it ? I am missing something obvious I am sure
Back to my earlier post which said check that MIDI channels are matching on the keyboard and the computer. There are 16 MIDI channels. If your keyboard is set to channel 1 and computer is receiving on channel 3 you will get no sound.
19. That's really what I've been thinking. I've had (and have) a 'few' basses over the years and never experienced this before. Just one of these things. At least the bass is so good when it's right that it would be worth having a new neck made.
20. Just make sure that the MIDI out channel on your keyboard matches the MIDI in on the computer.
21. Looks like another high standard again this month. Good job.
22. I bought a bass on here recently which has a rather unstable neck. It arrived with a noticeable forward bow on it. Didn't think much about that and did a setup. Played like a dream so went to bed. Next morning it had developed a forward bow again. The action had risen by at least 1-1.5mm. Trus rod had reached it's maximum and I wasn't going to try turning it any further. I have tried clamping it with the rod loose which allowed a great setup again. Each time I do this it always settles back into the forward bow over night when the room is cooler. The trus rod appears to be dual action so I turned it all the way anticlockwise to induce a forward bow. Clamped it again for a day then left it out the clamp for a while before I restrung it. Strings on, setup and playing like a dream again. Again when I come to it this morning action has risen by 1mm. At least there was some travel left on the trus rod so I gave it a little tweak. Perfect once more. Just checked the action and as the heating is now on, room warming up, the action has gone down again by half a mm. Beginning to annoy me. Anyone any ideas for cures or what might be wrong? The bass is an Ibanez GWB-35, if that helps, from what looks like 2006.
23. There is a second window that comes up above the button. Choose how often you want to be informed and then click "Follow this topic".
24. So are frets but nobody complains about them.
