1. You live in Manchester? You want to try higher end gear? I take it you know about the Manchester Bass lounge? http://manchesterbasslounge.com/
2. You like Jaco, Marcus. Don't forget he practiced on fretted bass. Don't overdo the slides. Work on your intonation first. Listen to Gary Willis. Loads on youtube.
3. It's no Status bass. Looks like it might be a Washburn Series 1000 that's had the horns restyled but certainly not a Status.
4. There is no copyright on chord changes. Only on tunes. That's why tab sites would be in trouble. As dincz says above what about the blues. There would only have been about two or three jazz tunes written if chords were copyrightable. Jazz tunes are always using existing chord changes just like blues.
5. An osteopath might be worth trying too. They are specific to the musculo-sceletal structure of the body. I have an injury in my right forarm that has stopped me playing the DB for now. Went to the osteopath and she identified exactly where the problem was.
6. A quick search on Google produced a Telecaster forum asking the same question. The answer seems to be that the word comes from German meaning groove or slot. Putting it through MS Word translation seems to agree with that. Any other takers. Good question by the way.
7. I watched my luthier put the nut back on one of my basses recently and he just put a couple of small drops of glue under it to hold it in place. Saves any hassle when you change strings.
8. Why would someone in China buy an American custom shop Fender when they make perfectly good copies of that bass in China with Fender on the headstock ;-) ...Allegedly
9. Wonderful. Just copy the link from the address bar of the build diary, paiste it in here and that's it. Honest, it's that simple.
10. Woop indeed. Beautiful! Nice pickup placement. What's the face wood?
11. That is a Status Energy. http://statii.com/st...logue1994_2.jpg http://statii.com/status_cats/catalogues/1/page2.jpg
12. What? You mean "For Sale: Other musically related items" in the market place.
13. And Fat Rich might be along shortly. He has just done a comparison of the Stealth with other Statii. He liked it so much he ordered one. Certainly go to Statii.com and have a look through the Show your Basses threads. Lots of gorgeous examples there.
14. Loads on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=guitar+nut+blanks&_sacat=0&_odkw=ch+guitars&_osacat=0&_from=R40
15. Even Sigmund Freud knew all about this all those years ago. You - Your mate - Your wife
16. Ah, that looks better with bigger pics over here. I can see the graphite weave.
17. These basses are really good! I tried a 4 string fretless recently and was very impressed with it.
18.
How am I going to get through waiting until the end of May or beginning of June?
Answer - All you need is a paint roller, some emulsion, a wall and a seat. Take the roller and apply the paint to the wall. Then sit on the seat and watch the paint dry. Simple. 19. This video must go down as the most posted video on any forum there is. Still entertaining though. This one's even better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y47rtQLO2cw
20. Anyone who keeps the bass line to Stratus going without a mistake gets my vote. Don't care if they are good looking or not.
21. I agree with this but I would sound so much better and enjoy my playing even more if I bought just one more bass.
22. I think her success might also have something to do with her ability at playing the bass. I might be wrong though.
23.
I bought an ESP LTD Vintage 204 recently. On arrival I noticed the nut was poorly cut...
And that reminds me. Lord Sausage on here bought the B-205 fretless recently and that had a poorly cut nut slot on the B string. It doesn't take much to replace a nut though. I would expect to have any new mass produced bass setup by a luthier anyway when I buy it.
24. I can only say that I tried an ESP LTD B204 fretless last weekend and I was very impressed with it. Neck is very comfortable, body is the same shape as the two you are looking at and the sound was spot on. I'll be buying one of these at the end of the month for the same reason as you want yours.
25. Do a search for 'images of musicman stingray hh' on Google and you'll find out.
