1.
The answer to that is definitely ...... "not enough band activity". My band has been rather dormant over recent months. For me, my GAS and my band activity are inversly proportional. the more I play, the less I obesess about gear !
...and anything else? You don't have to answer that here but something to ponder.
2.
Well there it is, I haven't slept well for weeks. I seem to go through a constant cycle of feeling that something isn't quite right with my rig or gear and then have to go through the whole thing of changing it, and trying out loads of alternatives etc etc. I feel thoroughly unsettled and sleep awfully throughout the whole thing. What a sad, shell of a man I am.
The counselior in me wants to ask the question; I wonder what else is going on in your life?
3. I don't know if it is anything like the B2.1u. That has what sounds like a similar switch under the pedal. I have to push the pedal down really firmly to activate that switch. Otherwise the little rubber pad under the pedal does not touch the switch. Don't know if that's of any help.
4. Washburn Series 1000s all had wooden necks with phenolic fingerboard. They never had graphite necks.
5. As the title says...
6. It's certainly worth it. The money some people have been trying to get for these things recently makes this look cheap. If that's the type of bass you fancy then you won't go wrong with it. There's one on Ebay at the moment currently at £310.
7.
I shall keep it to myself from now on Eude
I don't know that you need to go that far. I think what everyone in this discussion is saying that it is a very subjective thing. You're dealing with so many different dimensions, construction techniques and wood, that it will never be objective. Then there's the player...
8.
I would not go for a bolt on neck just because 'you might break it' or whatever. They are not the way to make a 'real' bass. IMO folks. If someone offers to make you a neck through you would be a fool to say "no, can you please screw the neck on instead".
I'm intrigued to know what would make you remove this choice when ordering a bass.
9.
Not so bad without vocals.
Was that not the Jo Satriani tune, or was it Cat Stevens, or was it...
10. So that'll be $300 dollars you're selling it for.
11. Maybe the mods could pin the thread about posting photos in all the places it needs to be in a way it cannot be avoided.
12.
I'll def post pics and clips.
Jolly good show, My Lord.
13. I'd be interested to hear what it sounds like if you buy one.
14. I'm tempted by the four string fretless, but do I need any more basses. Of course I do. This thread on Talkbass seems to rate them very highly.
15. It's good to see someone playing tastefully like that and not trying to show off. Also good to see a jazz bass being played finger style with no thumb up ready for a good slap. Thanks for posting that.
16. Just bought a Hartke Bass Attack from Jonny. Great condition and a fast and problem free transaction. Thanks Jonny.
17.
Lovely bass but where are the controls?
Kind of you to answer my question bump!
18. I like that! Sinner/Saint has a great beat to it. I love two to the bar bass. Some nice chord changes on 15 Minutes of Fame. Good work. What bass/basses were used?
19. Also lots of fake book web sites. http://www.ralphpatt.com/Song.html http://kristinhall.org/songbook/BluesAndStandards.html http://www.guitarcats.com/realbook-jazz-standards/A
20. Do you mean something like the Real Book (in various volumes)? http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Real-Book-Books-Leonard/dp/0634060384/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357488620&sr=8-1
21.
You've been a member here since Feb 2011 and you've got 1 active post - how do you manage that???
He has a life! Unlike the rest of us.
22.
Probably best to be discreet and not name them.
Plenty of people on here and elsewhere, were less than discreet about the Bass Callar. I believe that is not there any more. In this economic age the way Wunjos treat customers is what brings people back. It's browsing and good advice that eventually leads to a sale.
23. Nice job indeed. I've never been a fan of the looks of the Thumb but the way you have used the woods here gives a bit more life to the look of it.
24. The selling motive has always been in my mind when reading reviews on the net. We're in no hurry for something new so it might just be a waiting game.
