1. I'm sure Thomastik Jazz Flats will be mentioned. Quite low tension and lovely fat, warm sound. What gauge are you using?
2. By third finger I take it you mean ring finger? If that's the case, as RhysP says, use it as an excuse to use the other fingers. You can use a double bass technique which involves leaving out the ring finger from playing. Means you don't have as big a stretch and can be used on electric just as effectively. I play that way all the time. Adapt and survive.
3. I used to have a TRB6II and the only thing that let it down at all was the preamp. With the U-Retro this will be a fine sounding bass. They are great preamps.
4. Ctrl - Alt - Del
5. Probably the most useful pedal I have used live with a bass.
6. It's all my fault! I've been looking at Furniture Village.
7. Look forward to the photos. You should also get this on Statii.com but be sure to get pics up first time or an angry Canadian might have something to say.
8. Was this the one? http://www.statii.com/forum/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=4757&rowstart=20#post_45453
9. When I went to pick up my Jazz after having a J-Retro fitted I couldn't get over how monstrous it had made the bass's sound. Big fan here. Love the mid controls.
10. If only everyone put this much effort into selling an instrument. First class post for a fine sounding instrument.
11. At the top of the For Sale: Basses page there is a link to the rules for selling. Please look at them. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=rules&f=19
12. What does it look like?
13. Youtube, dear boy, Youtube. Search for adjusting the truss rod and you'll get a few videos on the subject. Then you can decide whether or not you have the courage to have a go yourself.
14. Impressive playing.

Harley Benton B-500FL The sound this guy produces with it is wonderful. 20.
Yes but hey this is ONLY about fives... And any reason is good, no, come on?
You must be a four string bassist, i.e you are prejudiced against four string basses. Maybe I'll just get my coat.
21. There's a whole thread of fretless porn. Plenty of fives there. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/136517-fretless-porn/page__hl__fretless
22. Ehm, Colchester. Sorry, coat in hand.
23. I have two basses with chambered bodies. I go for it for weight saving alone. I'm not sure what difference there is in tone as I have never compaired the same pickup system with solids.
24. Ah, I've been look for a new musical direction...
