1. Oh I know I want it but I've just spent a huge amount of money on my house kind of bump.
2.
Not sure which band you mean.
Sounds very Pink Floyd to me, very David Gilmore. Great feel to it.
3. I think I'll complicate things further. This is the chart we use in our band.
4. Never sell a bass. How many posts have you read where someone has sold a bass only to regret it later. Buy the second bass. If after a year you find you are not using the MFU then it might be worth considering a sale.
5. Well I'm always a sucker for the influence of that band. Sounds fine to me. At least you haven't fallen into the trap a lot of guitarists do and play the bass like a guitar. A nice simple line and it fits perfectly. Nice playing all round. Good job.
6. Have you considered a John East preamp at all? The neck job looks great so far.
7. Wish I could lift the lid on that one. Is that prototype #1 or #2
8. Seems someone has woken up to it. No longer listed.
9. I wouldn't call them hidden charges. They are standard charges applied to anything over the value of £18 (I think) imported into this country from outside the EU. You are charged VAT and import duty. That can be anything up to 30% added onto the purchase price. These will be charged when the item reaches this country not by the store. A friend bought a £1000 guitar from the states last year. The store were good enough to mark the value on the customs declaration as £500. He was charged £95 VAT and duty. So not exactly hidden charges but charges you have to be aware of.
10. Lovely bass ian. That's quilted maple on the front. Nice piece too.
11. I know what you mean. I have played around with the EQ a lot. I have the mids boosted a lot for headphones and cut them a lot for amp use. That gives me a similar sound for the two.
12. Already being discussed as it's the second time it's been put up for auction. Been reported to Ebay as well. http://basschat.co.u...ve-amongst-you/ EDIT: should read whole post before I post. Doh!
13. I would think it is a Matrix. You can see the difference for yourself on the Catalogues page of Statii.com. Just click on the Matrix and Series II links. http://www.statii.com/status_cats/index.html
14. These bits of wood are almost good enough to have been chosen by Rob Green himself.
15.
Thanks bud. If my height is wrong Would these files work on a brass nut?
I'm not sure about what files to use. Adjusting a nut is something I leave to a luthier. Don't trust myself with it.
16. This might be useful to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI9Y9MsmnEc&list=FL4vFv6-gg4sDK0K8YK770sA&index=11&feature=plpp_video
17.
Will try that next time, to be honest I found the majority of the faff comes from the nature of guitar strings as opposed to the trem itself, I tuned and stretched them out locked it and fine tuned, ten minutes later needed to unlock and retune then fine tune them again, stable now though.
That's certainly true. Fraid I haven't been shown a way round that yet.
18.
...after the faff that is changing Floyd strings...
Nice buy you have there. Changing Floyd strings doesn't have to be as much of a faff as I first thought. Don't know how you do it but try putting the ball end on the machine heads. Then you only have one end to cut. Friendly luthier taught me that one when he set up my Floyd Rose whammy.
19. And what is that big fat arm covering up?
20.
What does it look like?
21. If you put 'guitar decals' into ebay search box you'll come up with loads. Try the 'Fecker Fraudcaster' or the 'Fecker Imprecision Bass'
22. Sounds like quite a bargain. I'm sure it'll have a big sound with that block of wood. Have you booked in with the osteopath yet.
23. Nice playing and a cracking sound on the DB.
24. Lovely basses. I have one and everyone who hears it and knows anything about DBs always comment on the quality of tone from it.
