1. Shame you're so far away from me otherwise I'd have snapped that up. Have a bump for a very beautiful bass.
2. Right, that is used when you play a gig with a sound system/PA. The sound man might ask for a feed from your amp. That's where the XLR lead is plugged in. If he gets any kind of noise or interferance from that line out he might ask you to use the ground lift switch. Unless you are going into a PA you wouldn't normally use the ground lift or that line out. If you use another speaker cab with the combo you would use the speakon socket next to the combo speaker 6mm jack.
3.
...girls weren't meant to play with drills and screws and stuff!
Oh, if a bloke had said that... Find a local luthier who I'm sure will be able to sort it for you.
4. Ground lift is used when you experience some humming of sorts in your signal line. Switching it on can often remove this hum by interupting the circuit at some point. I'm not sure what you mean by "Line Mix". Is this the line out beside the ground lift switch? I have the CMD 121P, same amp but 12" speaker. Great little amp and a big sound. I put it through an MB 15" cab for noisier gigs.
5. For a swing novice that is a pretty good start. I've played worse than that and I've been playing swing for 10 years now. Keep that up and there's no stopping you.
6.
I found the TI acoustics are just too floppy for me to play.
You mean they are even looser than the jazz flats?
7.
let me know when you find your ideal set; i recently got Ti flats on my acoustic and gotta say, i don't love them.
What is it you're not keen on with TI Jazz Flats? I've been trying different strings recently on my Status Electro. Flats I find a bit lifeless on wood necks. The Hotwire Nylon wound are a bit bright, nylon wind on roundwound string. When I came back to the jazz flats the fullness of tone was just lovely. I'd just like to see if any other nylon core strings exist.
8. Is anyone aware of any sets like this? I'm aware of the TI Acousticore but that is round wound. Bit too bright for my needs and would chew up my fretless board. I want to put them on a fretless bass with a piezo pickup in the bridge. I've tried tapewounds, flats and halfwounds. Love my TI Jazz Flats but would love to try a set with nylon core and flat winding if they exist.
9. Well it's nice and sunny in the Scottish Borders right now. Having used so many Status basses you should get involved at Statii.com if you haven't already. Quite a list of gear you've had.
10. Perhaps a couple of pics might help, type bump.
11. I don't know anything about these but very interesting picture of a "Buzzard" bass on the customers page. I wonder if Warwick know about that. There's a few Status Graphite fans who would love a Status Buzzard but Rob Green cannot make them. Like the look of the Carve Top Fretless though.
12. Only heard her first one and quite liked it. This is something completely different. Wow! Hope she continues to write/find good songs. That's quite a performance.
13. Think of all the scratches on the back, lying on rough ground like that.
14. I'm really not sure what your fear is. You play cello and have played NS. I think it is the fear of playing without lines that holds us back. I've been there. All you really need are marks at 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and octave. That devides the board into smaller areas which might make it easier for your brain to work with in the early days. So as has been suggested side dot markers or even small lines that just hook over the edge of the neck would do.
15.
A coffee table?
Don't be silly. The clues are in there. He plays bass. The site is for a company that builds guitars. It's a bass guitar. My coat is already hanging on my arm.
16. Sold a bass to Chris. A pleasure to deal with and good communications. Met all the costs and fees for the transaction without any problem. Well worth dealing with. Thanks Chris.
17. I wish someone would ban slapping, except Mark King. Why? Because I can't do it even half as well as him and it is just a cliche now.
18. Only a Wal will give you the true sound that Mick Karn had. However, if you get a fretless with a pickup near the bridge and mix the bias towards that, that should get close. Boost the mids as well. Good luck and I don't think you would regret having a go at fretless.
19. What's the serial number? Lovely looking bass at a fair price.
20. Bump
21. Yet another happy customer here. Ordered one for my Markbass 15" cab a long time ago and about to order another for my CMD121P.
22. Not bad in this clip.
23.
Is he really any good? ...can someone enlighten me please?
Spot on intonation and amazing use of false harmonics all on a six string bass. What's not to admire. Having said that his music is not quite to my taste even if his ability is.
24. I'm not a fan of slap bass at all but I do admire his style. I do like his fretless playing though, Ink Illusion being my favourite.
25. Just had a Markbass amp delivered from Floyd. Great amp in great condition. Flawless transaction and a gentleman to deal with.
