1. As I haven't used this for years it's time it was moved on. In immaculate condition. Three band EQ, treble, bass and mid. Strung with 30-130. Hum cancelling pickups. Comes with Yamaha fitted case which has a little damage on one corner. Doesn't affect the construction of the case. £475 (or very nearest offer) + shipping. I can deliver to Edinburgh or Newcastle for the cost of fuel.
2.
can i just ask, why do these basses have 2 strap buttons on the bottom? the lower one seems to be in bit of a far round position
Have you ever tried standing a bass against an amp when it only has one strap button?
3. Last time I heard from Rich OTPJ he had been having some personal problems but was physically fine, just very busy playing to make a living like the rest of us. Status still making replacement necks and as Chris says, give Dawn a phone.
4. Whatever circuit it turns out to have, it still seems to be a lovely looking bass at a good price.
5. Could I just point out that it is the tone control that is active not the volume. Good luck with the sale, seems like a fair price.
6. That's great stuff, just good foot tappin' music. The folk trio I occasionally play in were supporting the Hot Seats in Scottish Borders last night. Just so full of energy.
7.
Two mikes, look a little closer (bottom left)
Three? Top right.
8. That bass is naked in the pic I have from the bass show, no strings. Still a lovely bass James.
9.

Still just as pretty here.
10. OOh, my word. That is a very pretty bass indeed. Hope you enjoy playing her.
11. Amazing that a Series 2 went on Ebay for £1000 recently and this has no takers. They are amazing basses and headlessness is so logical and much more stable than headed.
12. Your Series II looks even better in your photo than it does in the clip. I like the Zoot too.
13. I love the sound of halfwounds through headphones and recording. It's when I come to amp a bass that I don't like the sound of them. Always seem to end up going back to flats for that.
14. A Status neck always makes a Stingray look better. Nice.
15. Thanks Rich. It makes a lovely sound too. And Chris, arn't we all lucky to own such beautiful instruments.
16. Here's my latest addition, a Status Electro 2. The dream continues. And the family.
17. Like oil, trees that produce wood such as mahogany and rosewood will become rarer and more expensive. That will eventually lead to a tipping point where people will no longer be willing to pay the prices. I'm not sure Maple will become that rare. I'll go with Bilbo's comments though. That's why I need a bigger house On the other hand we could all buy Status Stealth and Streamlines. You wouldn't go wrong with them.
18. This guy cuts through quite well with his jazz.
19. I had a chat with Hilary James at a gig once and she didn't rate the Mandobass much. Even she said your better off with a double bass. The mandobass just doesn't have the volume. Bit like an acoustic bass then. Here's another bouzouki. My Fyle Octavius with 25" scale, shorter than the regular Irish bouzouki.
20. Very, very nice pair. The Status necks must make them sound sweet.
