  1. I ALWAYS ask before bidding, and politely. I find it absolutely bonkers to do this afterwards, regardless of how politely it is done.
  2. Congratulations on your 666th post, Beelzebub
  3. Isn't technology wonderful?
  4. I dunno, that Venetian Pearl looks lemony fresh to me
  5. Not guilty, Your Honour, I have had my Triad since August last year. BTW it's Korina Burst - named after the wood type.
  6. Highlights of parental vinyl... Cream Wishbone Ash ELP Genesis Bowie Alice Cooper ABBA
  7. I tried both in store and plumped for the Triad. I preferred the sound of the Triad as had a bit more character to it - I found the Mercalli too smooth for my tastes. But it's just my opinion - the Mercalli is a fine bass too. Plus the Triad is a three pickup bass - which historically I've been a sucker for also
  8. TB is like London, too effing big to get my head around so I rarely visit. Threads get too long, too quickly and I can't be bothered sifting through it all unless I really need to know something.
  9. Don't do it. Fretless is awful. There, I tried
  10. I'm out - just get @KiOgon to do it
  11. I'm not explaining myself well here. No switch or push pull - the wires that go to the switch in the diagram permanently wired as if the switch (which will no longer be there) is in series mode. Yes?
  12. Scratch all of what I wrote, just so that I understand, you want the equivalent of the above, but as if the push/pull is always in series mode?
  13. Obviously, if you use hoisin sauce as polish, it's going to be sticky - no amount of my freaky built in countermeasures can deal with that!
  14. Make sure you credit Cadfael for their excellent diagrams (there's a whole book of them online) - unless you are Cadfael, that is...
  15. Ahh, another old trope thrown around like confetti. SOME people find gloss finished necks (regardless of colour) sticky. They're probably sweaty so-and-sos, so is it really the bass's fault? I have dry skin (that needs to be actively looked after, but not to the level of psoraisis or suchlike conditions) and it's like built in talcum powder. As a result, neck finish never bothered me, regardless of what it is.
  16. On the whole I find BC a pretty laid back place, and that's what makes it disappointing. I had opinions to share on the matter but by the time I got here, there was far too much weight being thrown around so I couldn't be bothered. That was also a disappointing angle. EDIT: the OP appears to have effed off, so I think I'll share some of my thoughts now.
  17. Did you forget about Customs Duty?
  18. F me, this is a disappointing thread.
  19. So, small, round, brass things - brass will tarnish so I guess I should blast them with a coat of clear lacquer before putting them on the bass, do you think?
  20. Building, manufacturing, assembling, constructing, creating, crafting. Eat a thesaurus, basically. People will load certain words in an attempt to differentiate or seem more than they are when they all mean the same thing at the end of the day - where once there was not a bass, now there is.
  21. The stars have aligned! The pickups I wanted appeared on eBay (US) - moved some money around and snagged them. Hopefully will see them in a couple of weeks. Also, eBay UK is having a £1 final fee/no insertion fee weekend, so I'll get my EMGs listed and hopefully sold to offset the cost of the new pickups. Also, some small round brass things might be arriving soon...
  22. For reasons I have yet to wrap my head around, G&L USA don't shield their basses. My CLF L-1000 was exactly the same. Baffling, even if prices hadn't gone up by 38% in 18 months.
  23. Do they have to match?
  24. It's actually the correct way to string some Hagstroms...
  25. Been known to wear the odd hat... The Pork Pie... The cap... The Jersey cow trilby...
