  1. Busy month! Back to Wilsons in Aberdeen with Nine Lives for another round of classic rock, indie, even some rocked up pop, on Saturday 14th June. Be there or be... a rhombus.
  2. Done, hope it works out ok in the end
  3. That's a good shout, hadn't thought of that angle.
  4. Things are deffo happening behind the scenes - my outstanding order has been subtly edited. I ordered two things as a bundle. Last time I looked at the order, the bundle had been zeroed (but was still visible on the order) and the two items spun out as individual items (honouring the bundle pricing). Today I had a look and there is now no mention of the bundle at all, just the two items in question. Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up, but I am quietly watching developments.
  5. Unsure how to react to this with a single emoji, so yay for great gig, and boo for health issues - hope you're on the mend soon!
  6. Years before I got into playing bass, I do remember one of my friends at Uni owning a cream coloured Encore P bass. I think I only had it in my hands once, unplugged so couldn't really tell you very much about it. I do remember thinking it was a nice looking bass though.
  7. It is very purple... 07_thunderbird 64 purple moving.mp4
  8. What a cracking gig last night with Nine Lives at the Balaclava in Fraserburgh. What can I say, it was busy and loud, with an audience who were bang up for a dance and a sing along. Can't really ask for much more than that. Genuine goosebumps moment when enough folk were singing The Cranberries "Zombie" back at us such that we could hear it over ourselves. You know you've had a great gig when packing up doesn't tire you out. Can't really say much more than that. Probably pay for this with a paid rehearsal next week - karma's a b!tch Gear was the Sire Z7 then the Epiphone T-bird into the ISO standard bass rig. Shout out to the Thunderbird, it was sounding epic last night, and I felt godly playing it. Oh and I got called "the coolest MF" by a punter last night after we finished. My ego happily accepts your compliment, sir! And have a bit of bonus video...
  9. Back then, could have passed for white socks - no biggie
  10. Thanks Rob, might well take you up on that. Clapham, or some grotty services somewhere - no contest, innit?
  11. Yes, because I'm quite, quite mad. But in the good way. When you live in the sticks, you gotta go where the fun is - you'll die waiting for the fun to come to you...
  12. If only my life was that interesting! Tonight I'm playing a gig in... Fraserburgh. "The Broch". Biggest shellfish port in Scotland, I'll have you know...
  13. Don't know if it's a mistake or not, but it seems the online doors have opened up again at Bax Music - the "it is not possible to place an order" banner is gone from the top and you can add stuff to baskets.
  14. Enough with the flucking metric/imperial debate! This is "How was your gig last night?" FFS! It's bad enough when people start using it as "Basschatters upcoming gigs" but I've come to peace with that. But this irrelevant bickering can GTF - it's making the relevant stuff disappear with undue haste. Take it to bloody Off Topic where it belongs!
  15. LOL@"toy bass" - it certainly is diminutive. Compact and bijou! Congrats on finding something to your liking.
  16. Next gig for Nine Lives is at the Balaclava in Fraserburgh on Saturday 7th June...
  17. I briefly owned an OG SB14 many years ago, but never played a USA Sterling. My question would be - what do you think you're missing out on by not having a EBMM Sterling?
  18. "good enough is good enough"
  19. Can confirm that the Tecamp Puma 900 is a hell of a nice amp - I briefly owned @Acebassmusic's one before I got a chance to score a Markbass combo at a killer price like a week or so after. It was far too good an amp to have languishing around as a backup, so I put it back out into the ecosystem for someone else to enjoy! Taste knob == witchcraft - the good kind!
  20. Aw no! Hope you heal up quick, mate!
  21. I live in fear of an email from Moog's legal department on a daily basis...
  22. Whatever the correct length of D'Addario XL nickel rounds go on my 32" Squier Jag H...
