  1. The street address of a police station, perhaps?
  2. Copper tape shielding is not a glamorous job but strangely satisfying and when done right can make your bass almost silent, even in the most death-trappy rehearsal rooms! Outlay - a few quid for the slug tape, perhaps some soldering and some of your precious time. Oh, and 100% learn to do your own setups. Your basses will end up playing better, the way you know you like them to and for no cost other than your time. If I can learn how to do setups, anyone can.
  3. Widnae dream o' it... We should probably let the OP crack on with colour choosing, in English...
  4. Fool! You're going to look like a total dweeb!
  5. Gold. Sparklier the better. Black and gold (in whatever combination) is this season's must have look!
  6. Eh, it's a gig. First one in ages for the 'Spoons, 'cos sax player got a job offshore and trying to work around his shift patterns has been a challenge. I don't take any of these BOTB things seriously, we're too niche to win anyway. It's more a case of reminding the three people who maybe care that we still exist as a going concern...
  7. These days a new set of strings probably costs less than the gas or leccy required to boil the water...
  8. If all you're wanting to do is remove the bass so you can hear yourself during playalong - just play it through your laptop's speakers - they'll soon put paid to that pesky bass being played better by someone with infinitely more talent than you. Take that, Claypool!
  9. Someone's in a fiesty mood tonight! U ok hun, etc...
  10. G&L L-1000 5 string wideboy. To hell with "versatility" - simply give me a bass that just sounds great and doesn't need any added salt and pepper. While you're fiddling with pickup selection, blending and your 4 band EQ, I'm already at the first chorus
  11. The black pickup has been used on several other finishes - white, blue royale and silverburst I'm pretty sure. Your biggest problem is that not many people mod these basses beyond changing tuners and bridge - not a lot of Lo-Z alternatives out there and what with the pickup being specific to this bass, a funny size and it all adds up to too much hassle for most folk to countenance mucking around in there.
  12. Bass strings - worst spaghetti ever.
  13. Ublock Origin is available for Chrome too, and works just as well, so you don't need to change to Firefox to do this. Firefox fanboi axe grinding, detected...
  14. You're easily annoyed!
  15. Either that or a deliberate attempt to put a little sick in your mouth, amirite, G&L?
  16. Do you mean the Tribute LB-100? Apart from pickups and controls, the neck width is different (wider nut on the LB-100 - 43mm plays 38mm). JB-2 has no pickguard, LB-100 has one.
  17. I must confess that I wasn't a fan of the Matcha Green finish when I saw it on the G&L website, but it looks lighter in your photo and somehow better - almost military. I do wish G&L would offer the CLF models in more colours - they only ever seem to do 4 at a time per model and 2 of them (Natural and Old School Tobacco Sunburst) never change on the wunkay. They stopped the Pharoah Gold, and they stopped the Royal Purple (that's my one - love it). Enjoy your wunkay!
  18. This Greco LGB-700, 3 pickup Les Paul shaped nutcase, preferrably in the pictured purpleburst:
  19. Weren't we supposed to be killed off in the 80s? In any case, I agree that Gen Z has no time for (or indeed knowledge of) internet fora such as this. Thus skewing towards the old fart demographic, on here at least.
  20. Is this a wind up?
  21. Stalin, the OG of cancel culture
  22. It was a reference to Britvic 55 - a rarely seen product these days, I wonder if they still make it?
