I have the MP3 one and I really like it. The only issue I had with mine was that the MENU button became a little flaky and unresponsive, but then rather oddly it later fixed itself. Must have got bumped twice in the same place

I'd just like to say what a great time I had this weekend - some well tasty basses on display, I was a little too "I'm not worthy" about a few of them Thanks to Alan (and others) who organised it.

Great looking basses, well made, average sound in stock configuration. I ended up swapping out the stock passive humbuckers for EMG-HB active pickups (Precision-esque split rails in a humbucker size) and an EMG-BQC 3 band EQ. Did I mention I think they look great?

I'm pretty green when it comes to public performance, but I'm trying really hard to lift my eyes off the neck. In my first gig (which I was barely prepared for) I made sure I knew one song really well and looked up quite a lot and moved around a bit, but it was pretty much head down after the first few songs. With the band I'm in just now, I'm trying not to look at the bass when I'm practising solo, looking up/around the room in the rehearsal room and hopefully that's transferring on stage. I can't verify that though, because I can barely remember being on stage because of the adrenaline! My wife keeps me right, and I always try to look for her if she's at the gig - a guaranteed friendly, supportive face.

Get the template right - bodging it means you only bodge up a scrap of MDF or something. Once you have the template, and have it clamped nice and secure you drastically limit the opportunity for bodging the actual piece.

You can always fill and redrill. I've done this for a few Squier bodies now to "convert" them to a standard hole pattern. Of course that means the stock one won't fit any more. Up to you!
