1. I'm pretty sure I'm the second best bass player in my band. All this talk of sacking folk has got me on edge
2. Nope, don't like Jazz necks. Strings are just too close together for my sausage fingers. Give me a Precision (or wider) neck any day. It's probably because I'm so poor technically that I need more margin for error
3. Welcome aboard, fellow NE Scotland dweller
4. If the pickup is wax potted then that helps protect the coil.
5. +1 Just replace the neck. It'll be cheaper than repairing the broken one, even if you buy a brand new one.
6. An Artec SE-2 should replicate that functionality in 4 pots. http://www.thomann.de/gb/artec_se2_basselektronik.htm I used one in my custom build, was quite pleased with it.
7.
Ive decided to sell my Hartke Ha3500 head as it is to loud for home use, cant even get it up to half a notch without annoying the wife and neighbours. may trade for a decent bass, ie thunderbird or bb series yamaha
Turn down the preamp? I can get acceptable practice volumes into an 8ohm cab with master volume at 1
8. Welcome to the forum Nice Precision...
9. We've got a Beatles cover up (Long Long Long), no-one's bothered us about it. I think the pertinent word in the MySpace terms is "create music". "Uploading music you did not create" is not the same as "Uploading songs you did not write". Of course I could be wrong, but that's the way I read it.
10. Agreed - 8lbs is erring towards lightweight for a bass.
11. Epiphone - quirky Gibsons without the expense.

Hey Huw, welcome aboard
13. My Epiphone Les Paul Standard bass has a prettier headstock inlay than the Gibson. Actually, the Gibson doesn't have one! Go figure, I just find that amusing.
14. Tom bought my pimped Squier Bronco, paid promptly and maintained good comms throughout. I would not hesitate to deal with him in the future.
15. It's smaller than a Model One. It's roughly guitar humbucker sized, give or take a mm. Mounting is also similar, with threaded holes in lugs protruding from the bottom edges, expecting to be mounted with springs either into a pickguard or a mounting ring. I fixed up a Gibson Ripper recently which had one of these at the bridge.
16. I'm not going to inflict my views on everyone, all I will say is that I do not want a reliced instrument in the same way I don't want a reliced car.
17.
The Array is probably my least favourite of the Traben 'bigger bridges' It reminds me too much of naff 'metal' tattoos.
+1 The only Traben I would consider owning is the Chaos - no coincidence that it has the most conventional looking bridge out of all of them...

19.
That logo and face mounted jack affair looked horrifc imho and def cost em a sale from me in the past. I do understand that perhaps that sharing a logo with the branded wicks may debatably devalue the german wicks in the eyes of more gear obsessed types as us, but hey ho, it'll shift more units I'm sure!
The recessed, front mounted jack was only the Streamer if memory serves. It's side mounted on my Corvette.
