1.
You'll need some rack ears for the HA3500, did you buy it new?
Nah, I got it second hand. I found the Thomann link for the ears. I now await case recommendations. Cheers guys.
 2.
Does anyone know where I can get replacement pickups for a Gibson EB-3? I know DiMarzio do a neck replacement (unfortunately in black rather than a bright metal) but I'm completely stuck on the mini humbucker. Any ideas?
I quite like the black of the Model One - it's kinda old school like the early EB pickups: 1962 Gibson EB0 Bass Guitar Looks quite good in my Epi EB-0, imho.
 3. Hi there The surround of my Hartke HA3500 is broken - split at the side handle. I was thinking of replacing this with a 2U rack case. Trouble is that I'm not sure where to start. I presume I'll need some kind of brackets - do they come with a rack case? Are the brackets a standard thing or do you need to get ones specific to your amp? Anyone got any recommendations for 2U rack cases - I have no clue as to what's good and what's bad. Also not wanting to spend a heap, so if it can be kept below £100 it would be nice. Sorry for all the questions but I'm pretty green when it comes to all this rack mounting shenanigans.

 6. Just bought a set of Hipshot Ultralites from Derek here, got them to me snappily and well packaged. Nice easy sale, no problems here. Would not hesitate to deal with him again in the future.
 7.
In the same sense that "Squire" is the new "Squier". I think I'm having an Intolerant Bastard day today - the combined repetition of "Squire" & "origional" in that ad makes me want to buy it just so I can collect in person & then beat his oxygen-thieving, illiterate face in with it. And if that offends anyone, they can expect the same. Have a nice day. J.
Actually, I was making a semi-serious point about the shifting perceptions of "quality" as the Far Eastern production is concerned, but never mind

 9.
That's it. I had my other warmoth wired direct to jack and it was very bassy with little treble. That's why I thought that should be wiring a cap in doing it this way. I am looking for full teble
The cap eats high frequencies. If you want full treble - no cap.

 12. I've always thought that the Traben Chaos 4 seems like a lot of bass for the money: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/76237 And it looks normal too, bonus!
 13. It's just radically changed as I think I've taken care of one of my New Year resolutions and joined a band. Before it was maybe a couple of hours a week - now it's cranked up to about 10 (learning songs before first practice), and might be more in the run up to my first gig with them at the end of February.

 16. One for those of you on the move - I am selling an Ibanez GA1B amp. Don't get too excited - here are the specs: 4W @ 4ohm, 4" speaker, volume, bass and treble controls. Basically, it makes an electric bass audible. Where this unit could be useful to someone is in the fact that it's tiny. I used to stash it at my wife's place when we were going out so I could have a noodle every so often when I was staying over. Not my photo, but here's some context: Comes with PSU. I don't even know if they're made any more, there's been none on eBay in the last few months and I found one place via Google shopping selling them at a tickle under £30. Therefore I'd be looking for £15 delivered. If you flit between 2 places and the second place has no space for amps and stuff then maybe this might do a job for you.
 17. SOLD (heh, I had kinda forgotten about it).
 18.
Is this my old Starfire still not with you?
Yeah, that's the one. Like I said above - never involve family in business. Lesson learned.
 19.
Glad it's working out as, looking at your sig, you were clearly getting short on basses Families eh!
Ref! Foul! I've sold one bass this year already!
 20. He has broken cover, it's being sent apparently, but he's pretty angry due to some rather forthright messages my wife left on his Facebook. He gave an explanation but frankly I don't want to go into it, it's messy family crap which'll have to be cleaned up at some point. Gah, families - never involve them in business, it ends up being worse than any bad eBay transaction. This situation keeps getting better and better - if the bass arrives it'll probably be in three bits On the bright side he's not dead, nor seemingly in danger/trouble. I had better bite my tongue and see if the bass turns up next week.
 21. It's just to cover their backs. Your house goes up in smoke and you weren't using the recommended power supply? Well, there's your problem! I use my PSP's power supply to charge my Tascam bass trainer - same voltage, same polarity, same plug.
 22.
Hi guys. Bought a bass to get back into playing after a while. I bought it off a company called Ferris Music. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-STRING-ELECTRIC-BA...Q2em118Q2el1247 Very polite and delivery was quick but boy what a load of rubbish. Action is ridiculous, wiring is wrong (2 volume pots, both do the same thing on or off for all the pickups), truss rod wont turn and to top it off rusty frets! Has anyone an opinoin on the Westfield 'Warwick' look a likes? The guy in the guitar shop has them for £119, he said Warwick were going to confiscate them off Westfield so they sold them all off cheap. Or any other ideas? Looking to spend about £150 to £200?

Pickup: 2 single/1 humbucker
As a rule, I'd never buy someone from someone who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about, like those eBay sellers who quote the entire length of the guitar end to end as an important measurement For £200 you could get a secondhand Warwick Rockbass, if it's a Warwick-a-like you've set your heart on. There's one here that might still be on the go: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=rockbass

 24.
Slightly scratchy pots - might be a bit dirty, since everything else was. Is there a simple way I can spray/clean them without unscrewing or undoing anything!?
You need switch cleaner - Servisol Super 10 or some equivalent. Take off the back cover and look at the pots. There should be an opening in the pot casing, usually where the contacts are. Spray a little stuff in there then turn the pot back and forth through its entire range a few times.
 25. Maybe someone should point him to this thread.
