I dunno, it's like any other group of people - I've liked some of the bass players I've met, and disliked others.

Just thought I'd post here to let you know that I haven't forgotten about this one. It's been cold up here for the past few months - too cold to do spray finishing in my opinion - I have no access to proper heated indoor facilities. But I have found a few more potential suppliers of spares, so I've made some enquiries and hopefully I'll be able to locate the items I need.

Alternatively, I've used lighter fluid to clean up rosewood fingerboard before. Lifts dirt then evaporates. Before and after:

My Epi EB-3 has lacquer cracks around the jack socket. Why? Because I was playing sitting down a few weeks after I got it. My foot happened to be on the cable. I stood up. Oops.

I think your poll needs more flexibility - I have occasionally had a look through the wiki so I wouldn't say any of the three options are applicable.

Sorry, I've been a lazy bum. I've primed the headstock and given the neck to my sis. In the process of priming the body. I'm brush painting - too cold for spraying up here - and it's a laborious, boring, mind numbing and frustrating process, I have to sand half of what I just painted to get the brush strokes out - basically I suck at painting. Also been sidetracked by adding active electronics to my OLP MM3 - naughty! However, I've been thinking lately about how I've been really neglecting my playing and spending too much time acquiring gear and pottering about in the workshop. So I'm going to get this to my sister for painting, then I'm suspending all current project work (apart from refinishing the Hagstrom for a mate - no access to spray booth, waiting for warmer weather) in favour of getting some playing done. Organising a jam with a guitarist friend so that should help. The slabs of wood and various hardware I've collected won't melt or decompose if I leave them for a few months

WD Music - I have had excellent service from these guys in the past. Highlights include them sending me a tracing of a mex pickguard to see if it would fit a squier, and no questions asked next day replacement of faulty goods. Stringbusters - used them twice now and both times goods have been delivered the next day, including one time when I placed an order late in the afternoon.

It's the only direct replacement that I'm aware of. Looks tasty. The saddles look identical to the Hipshot A style bridge, which I have used. Very versatile, string length, height and spacing all easily adjustable. I've been considering getting one for my Epi EB-3 - I'm really not keen on the old "bridge on stilts" thing and the posts are slightly pulling out of the body

Anyone who sells guitars based upon their overall length (despite being informed about scale length and why it's a more relevant measure) is not to be trusted.

Has he been cancelling all other bids?

But for the cost+effort+time you might as well source out a Gibson on eBay.
