Just finished* an email exchange with an eBay seller in the USA wanting $60 to post an EMG 40P5 pickup to the UK. I think that's completely ridiculous considering I've had a 36 5/16" long, 3 1/16" wide, 1" thick neck blank sent to me for $40. Anyone else agree with me, or am I being unreasonable? * I assume it's finished - I haven't heard back after I told them that I thought they were taking the mick, in firm but slightly more polite terms.

Why don't you just ask the seller? If they're any serious about selling something, they'll be happy to answer your questions. It probably says on the back of the headstock or on the back of the neck at the heel where it was made and a serial number.

I don't think you'll damage anything by putting the wrong thing in unless you really crank it up. The only potential for problems comes from putting an active bass into the passive input.
