  1. Ach weel, when it's time, it's time. I too will miss the gig reports, but I reckon you'll get bored and join something else. I don't think you're done yet
  2. FWIW, I would give a band member in your position a pass on lugging gear, but I guess standing up for long periods is also a risk, so fair dos. Always a shame to call time, but glad to hear you're not having a total clearout. Keep well!
  3. Not like you... (says he, getting all ackshually about misconceptions about how G&L OMG mode works...)
  4. I'll ask the boring question then - why are you wanting to change the stock bridge? What do you want to achieve from this change?
  5. Indeed - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guyker-Saddles-Replacement-Precision-Instruments/dp/B0D963CB2W
  6. Nope, OMG mode is achieved by putting a capacitor across only one coil, putting them slightly out of balance and providing a perceived bass boost - because brains are soft, squidgy, suggestible things. No extra hot anything, just a little bit of Leo magic.
  7. Is it wrong of me to want the body of the Sterling but the neck and bridge of the EBMM?
  8. I do not like that bridge. If there are no mutes, there's no point in the plate being that bloody big.
  9. What kind of Stingray? Got a pic of what you're trying to replace?
  10. I played my 1978 BB1200 last night at band rehearsal and it was wonderful, as always. Super punchy, cut through the drums, guitar and vox like a circular saw. I really hope I never have to sell this bass.
  11. The only time I ever scrubbed the Squier logo off a bass was for humour (well, also because the headstock had a silver finish and the body was blue and it just looked weird). My current Squier Affinity (Jaguar H) is wearing its identity loud and proud.
  12. I was off as soon they brought out the 80 grit - I don't want scrubbed with that!
  13. That might calm down the rampant FOMO
  14. https://elektrotanya.com/yamaha_bb614_bb615_guitar.pdf/download.html
  15. No, actually, I missed that. I think I must have written that in the half hour between your initial post and the retcon, but got sidetracked before hitting submit. Your initial post is still nonsense though
  16. I'll see how it goes. The Jack Casady pickup is an odd beast, being low impedance so I dunno if that needs some specialist knowledge. Have made some enquiries about getting a direct replacement from Epiphone via a dealer so let's see what happens.
  17. Sign out. Your account is locked anyway. Then you'll be able to send them a message.
  18. Does that form not just send the admins a message?
  19. If you scroll down to the very bottom of the page there's a "Contact Us" link to a form, tell them all about it?
  20. Well, then I don't think there's anything to see here...
  21. This sounds like repairs to me - but help me understand - you bought the bass in this condition? With missing screws in the bridge and wonky tuner?
  22. Why is this still here? Even if it ends up being an ornament, it's £30 FFS! The only reason I'm not buying it out of curiosity/boredom is that I'm on gear abstinence this year.
  23. 7 days to go... if there are no further delays...
  24. They misspelled "Shoppe"
  25. Aye, probably. If it had been a bass recorder you might have been in more bother
