  1. Bass player stationed next to the bogs, standard
  2. You sure about that? My Tribute L-2000 could do that - even worked in passive with the battery removed.
  3. I'm starting to give less of a damn about it, to be honest. But it's still at prototype stage, so maybe if we gripe and moan about it loudly enough they'll change it. It worked on the Sire Z series lower horn after all (not that I had an issue with it)...
  4. White Epiphone G-3 spotted...
  5. Neutrik muting jack plugs - I've never had a problem muting the amp before plugging/unplugging stuff and I still do so out of force of habit even when I am using the lead with muting jack plugs. I simply wanted my last obbm cable to be the fanciest one it was possible to be.
  6. "You can't go wrong with a Yamaha" - people
  7. Now the missing stuff does annoy me - if you're going to take the FAAFO approach, at least F around with everything. I see in the Sire Z video they had to pin a comment saying that both basses were switchable active/passive. Come on guys - that's a seriously interesting angle and a thing that SBMM basses don't have (correct me if I'm wrong)
  8. I dunno, I don't mind it so much - it's natural when you first get a bass to FAAFO when it comes to the controls, so it comes across as reassuringly human to me.
  9. Hard case is a bit bulky, no?
  10. All I can say is thank feck I've got a day job.
  11. Both my bands are collaborative - everyone mucks in with the setting up and tearing down. I'm not super front foot about getting gigs, but I organise and print out set lists and in the originals band seem to have become chief artwork provider - which is fine because my songwriting has taken a major back seat lately, just don't think I've got that much to say that worth putting to music. No-one's slacking, everyone's doing their homework, there's no true central "leader" figure in either band, we keep each other honest. Is this weird?
  12. Go easy man, she's new, probably finding her feet in these videos. I'd be the same - let the established guy take the lion's share of things and gradually ease my way into the conversation.
  13. Well, looks like the video did its job - stock ETA has slipped to 30th August for preorders now...
  14. I know, capitalism be... capitalising?
  15. I was impressed with the range of effect that the preamp on the Z3 had in its chosen frequencies. Hopefully the Z7 is similarly wide ranging. Interesting that the passive tone still works even in active - I was expecting that to be one or the other.
  16. I made a comment about that on the video. I do get a bit of a "ner-ner-nerner-ner, we're playing these basses you can't have yet" feeling about it. I'd rather they'd waited until the basses were actually available before releasing the video, damn teases
  17. But it doesn't feed back at "war" volume when there's no OD...
  18. Loud enough to be heard over a drummer and a guitarist - Mark bass Mini CMD 121P IV (250W, 1x12"), gain set so it's just tickling the clip light, master volume probably around half. Room is large-ish - I don't have measurements to hand but it's very roughly 1.5 of my house's living room.
  19. One thing I would also really like is to A/B with another Jack Casady to see if the problem applies to all JCs or if it's just mine. Dunno if anyone local to me has one that they wouldn't mind me borrowing - for science!
  20. I'll put it on my list to try. Need to go some place I can be noisy - a terraced house is not the place to be making super obnoxious feedback noises at war (gig) volume...
  21. bass > Boss TU-2 > Hotone Harmony pitch shifter/harmonizer/detuner > Yamaha CO-10MII compressor > Joyo Monomyth > amp Powered by a T-Rex Fuel Tank Jr.
  22. Bass > Pedalboard > amp input Try the pedalboard in the effects loop instead, for a test?
