Eh, don't over analyse it - I used to have a G&L Tribute L-2000 which I modified to give 27 different switch combinations (pickup select, series/single/parallel, passive/active/active with treble boost) plus 2 band passive EQ. Found one combo of settings I liked (both pickups, single (inner coils), passive) and left all the knobs at 10 for practically the whole time I owned it!

Turns out that CNC machines in China and Indonesia work in exactly the same way as CNC machines do in Mexico and the USA!

I'm not anti-slap AND I can't do it. Do I win a prize?

I had this exact model of Dymo when I was a kid...
-
That's ok, all the more for me

If the stock ones are satisfactory, those. If not then I'm pretty omnivorous - Gotoh, Hipshot, Schaller, Wilkinson, Grover - whatever fits in the hole with the appropriate style of button.
-
Back then that would have likely been old school impact Dymo too. Mmm, tactile... Edit: just beaten to it!
-
You have absolutely no idea what a "Dymo" is, do you?

It's about efficiency - all that time typing that extra 'e' could have been spent drinking whisky...

Find The P-Bass Challenge (Strikes Back!)
neepheid replied to Rib13Bass's topic in General Discussion
Oh, I get it. I go to the BBC News website to read news. It irritates me when I see something that looks interesting and it turns out to be a Sounds podcast. Back button pressed almost instantly. -
Basses and Cars - What's up with that?

I assure you it's good natured rib tickling. The only thing I'm projecting is an attempt at humour. You can't win 'em all- 36 replies

Basses and Cars - What's up with that?
neepheid replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in General Discussion
So, your day hasn't improved then? That sucks. I know what tags are for, it's your liberal pebbledashing of the topic with them and the fact that you have to separately go out of your way to do so is my point. Also, they're right there under the thread title in bright orange. I didn't read them FWIW, but that doesn't mean I'm not aware of their copious presence...- 36 replies

Being associated with a particular piece of gear
neepheid replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in General Discussion
With my constant rotation of basses, I'm highly unlikely to be associated with any particular model. -
What jolly rotten luck!
-
I've occasionally received a duplicate of something and been told just to keep it. It's always been something small. I doubt Thomann will let me keep two Sire D5 basses, should the "lost" one I recently documented magically appear at a later date.
-
Aaaaaaaaaand, we're off again! D5 vs. DHL, round two, ding ding!
-
Money back AND keep the item? I would have expected one or the other...

So, a used TU-2 then...

Nope, half way between (unless you go for made to order then you can have whatever you like, as long as they offer it) From the website - "The return of the classic “C”-shape 1 5/8” neck, discontinued by G&L in the 1980s"
-
There you go. Welcome to the endgame

That and nuclear holocaust are the only two reasons a TU-2 needs replacing
