4. Have you played through it with your bass? Do YOU like the sound?
5. Rough them up on a bit of sandpaper first, they will bite then.
6. Huge Who fan but do agree its time to put yer feet up guys. Still piss on most bands nowadays, but hey ho. Pinos strange bass....
7. Oh dear, obviously wasnt good. Hes committed Hari Kiri with a sharp end cut of a G string. RIP Hot Tub
8. Highly recommended by many BCers her on the forum. I have the Thumper in my MIM Precision and love the sound. Go for it.

11. Went to see Dot funk last night. Place was absolutely packed but had a good view most the night. Band were top notch, the female vox was unreal and the male singer was a great front man, full of soul and great percussion. Brass section did their job well and the drummer was very slick. Well, Mr Turner.......... he had a small Aggie set up with two 12" cabs, top one angled up. Could not see amp, prob Aggie too. He was using a lovely white Fender Jazz, tort plate and matching white headstock. His playing was as youd expect from Paul, just "there". My only gripe was the bass sound and mix in the FOH, could have done with fattening up and a bit louder. For me the highlight was a version of the Prince song Nothing Compares To You, which was given almost a Gladys Knight and the Pips treatment, absolutely fantastic. £10 well spent, even though Becks was £3.70 a throw.
12. trying to emulate Entwistle? whatever he plays, the plodding 16th note patterns on the 3 chords he knows will sound the same. Runs for cover......
13. I love that scooped sound.
14. Mark Owen from Take That plays one on the Circus Tour, through a HiWatt stack. About £1300 new IIRC
15. These are only 2009 MIM basses but Fender have really upped their game with QC on this range. Also of course they come with my "compulsory" maple fingerboards. Upgrades are: New Fender Schaller tuners Wizard PUPS Baddass on P New plates on both.
16. Pity I'm sh*t really!
17. Er...its a Precision mate. No surprise, Steve Harris likes em.......so do I.
18. Im going...............thanks for headsup. Can I suggest that all BCers stand right up against the cocktail bar camply holding a bottle of tomato juice. Thanks
19. maplin used to do this IIRC.
20. I changed the MIM tuners on my two MIMs to Schaller Fender types for exactly the reasons you said.
21. Awesome......simple.
22. Guy, Martin,Chris and Mark at Ashdown all have a great reputation for customer service (ok, I am biased as I know them) and would do anything to help customers with genuine problems/gripes etc. This one is taking the piss a little though mate, TBH.
23.
chin the twat
+1 I'm all for the use of uneccessary violence towards band mates.
