Well... I deffinitly think they are overrated... Not only do they charge to much for what they are... They are verry limited to what they can imo... I mean, they are great jazz/blues basses... No doubt! But that's all.... Imo you can't play metal with Fender's, and some hard rock isn't great either -.- That's personal opinion but still... While Washburn and Warwick... They make basses that are great for metal, rock and still able to play jazz/blues ! Fender's like Gibson... Fanboy madness... Great stuff... But way overpriced
Also, apart from confirming you are under 25 (bets on you are), tell me, have you actually played Fenders in these hard rock/metal bands and then concluded they are not suitable? If so, then thats cool. If not, well...... My theory is that your style of music (no criticism of it) probably favours Warwicks/Dean from an image point of view.

I got the bass primarily as a backup. I used it at rehearsal last night and it sounded great, huge fat P tone. One thing I cant believe is the weight, its so light. Ive got some 70s reissue FENDER stamped tuners so will put them on, the standard tuners are a bit naff. Recommended. Tort plate though, Ive decided!!!
Do you have an audere in the jazz? Hows that working out, Does it give loads of power.Im thinking about sticking a pre amp in a jap jazz.
Yes, its an Audere. Very impressed, great tonal control all from the bass!! Great contrast to the passive thud of the P.

Dont know really, the black is growing on me!!!! Very Paul Simonen.

Ive just got my MIM 2009 Precision in Arctic White and swapped out the white plate for a black until my tort one arrives To keep my Classic 70s Jazz company. Both to be played through my Trace behemoth (shameless excuse to post another pic of my stack!!!)) Fender are really getting their act together, even with the Mex stuff. The new P has a really light smooth neck and the finish is really nice. Light too!! N

Just had a quick look at the photos on the listing. It may just be me along with the few glasses of wine Ive had but I aint happy with that neck as a genuine Fender. The headstock itself looks an odd shape, the logo is not right to me and the heel of the neck,(near the body at the back) seems an odd angular shape for a Fender. I sincerely hope Im wrong!!! -

Thanks, I will post some pics when I get it with the new plate. Re the 70s logo, Fender state it has a "70s style logo", but its not. The "Precision Bass" decal is on a straight line whereas in the late 60s/70s it was on a slope, if you see what I mean. Anway, I like it.

No, had to be ordered, prob next week.

I am so impressed by the 70s Classic Jazz (MIM) I have, I have pulled the trigger on one of the new MIM 2009 Standard Precisions in Artic White with the maple board. Sounslive are doing them for £399 I will swap out the plate for a nice tort jobby.
Well, I've loved this little amp for it's great sound and it's ridiculous portability - but having come into a bit of a cash bonus I splurged on an Aguilar AG500 as a bit of an upgrade (some might argue it a sideways move!) but the dual channel is very useful for me right now and erm...I wanted one This is in perfect working order & mint condition as I've always used it in its gigbag which is an awesome little thing. Only ever used for rehearsals and one gig a couple of weeks ago. Full spec can be seen at http://www.markbass.it/products.php?lingua...t=1&vedi=69 These things have rightly won a ton of awards in the last couple of years - I'm not entirely sure I won't regret this, but so it goes eh? Might give me an excuse to buy a higher end Markbass in a years time. I think thats a fair price as this would be around £600 new.
£499 brand new with warranty here: http://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/shop/view_p...CFQ0gQgodRScfmQ
