MB1 Feedback

Martin has bought two items from me recently. Prompt payer and seems like a bloody nice bloke. Thanks
3.
Waste of money. No disrespect to JE intended there, but I'm sure if he were here he would agree. The phrase that springs to mind 'a fool and his money are easily parted ......'
If JE thought that bass was worth £28k, he himself would have sold it. He spent the majority of his later career totally skint.
4.
Why? If you want a 1960 Jazz bass, get a normal 1960 Jazz Bass for fair bit less, and quite frankly it's not going to be made special for Entwistle, it's probably an off the shelf one, and quite suprising that one from an ex gigging musician seems to be in perfect nick, could it be a dog?
Its not uncommon for Johns guitars to be pristine, he rarely played the majority of them. He had them as collectors items. During the 60s/70s he had a Fender from every year pf production, but rarely played them. This is a lovely Jazz anyway but no way worth that amount, even with that great provenance. John had probably the first 50s P bass ever made in his collection. When asked by Gordon Giltrap how it played, he said " Bloody awful". Great.
5. As its the 150w version, Id say no more than £200 tops. Nice tho!!
6. Looks like an early Eastern European fridge.
7. I know we all know what this MB stuff looks like, but we all like to ogle at a nice picture!!!!
8. John Mayer - Vocals Pete Townshend - Guitars Steve Gadd - Drums Mark Cohn - Piano
9. You need a line level input for the MP3 really. The instrument input is far to sensitive as it goes through a pre amp. You will need to take it apart, bypass the pre amp inorder to install a line level input. Possible but will void any warranty and you need to have some savvy about electronics .

14. As youve probably gathered, I am flogging/have flogged some stuff to make way for an iMac. EBay is smoldering at the moment with some unrelated stuff and I think I need to let someone have my lovely SX sunburst P bass for a bargain price. These are well documented on this and other forums and make great first basses. It currently is strung with Status Hotwire flats and now has a spiral barreled bridge. Wizard Thumper pickup.Comes with a nice padded Fender gig bag. Pickup from Chelmsford or Harlow in Essex.
15.
Oh I'm liking that! Black on black, block inlays and a pre-amp? Where do I sign? Edit: If you don't mind revealing it - how much did all that cost please?
Bass £440 Badass £48 Audere approx £160 ish all in Status Hotwire Rounds £15
Looks great! How are you getting on with the Audere, was it worth the dosh in your opinion? I'm waiting for Parcel Farce to deliver mine to me as we speak. I've heard good things about it, especially the pickup blend feature.
The pre is lovely, gives me a wide tonal control from the bass which was what I was after. I have the Vol - Blend/Mid - Bass/Treble set up. Worth the dosh? Yes. Regards - Neil
16.
Beautiful! I fancy one of these in sunburst.... How does it compare to a Geddy or Jap 75RI?
The neck is far chunkier than the GL, then every other bass neck is!!!! Ive never played a 75 RI, so cannot comment. All i can say is for a Mex, the build quality is excellent. The necks on all MIMs are made in the US anyway, or so I read somewhere. The neck is lovely. The Audere gives it a new life aswell as allowing you to keep a passive sound if you want. The blue light level indicator is cool too. Neil
17.
Hi saw one of these today in the flesh/wood today, claimed to be on of the first in this country, glittery blue and silver plate and no West Ham sticker ... nice http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM01/Co...-Bass-large.jpg If you like that sort of thing! £1099 of your hard earned, made in Japan, which is strange I thought!
The Geddy Lee is a CIJ bass.
18. Chris Agree about provenance of this item. Those machineheads are cheap Chinese jobs, deffo not Fender. theres also something about the typeface of the PRECISION BASS logo that doesnt sit right with me. I think he is either having a bit of a giggle or he really thinks it is a vintage US P. Neil
19. My Audere arrived and I stuck a Badass 2 on aswell. Sounds unreal thru the old Tracey!!
20. Robs place is 20 minutes away fro me, oh the pain!! Ashdown are the same, roughly. Trace were on my doorstep....oh to be a bassist and live in Central Essex. Now, I must phone Rob and see about that Retro Jazz.................
