1. Dont start me on The Who, I will be here days!!
2.
I ran the valve stage power amp up today into a 4x12" - after a bit of mucking about it sounded great and even better when I used a VT1-Purist to overdrive it and acting like as pre-amp. It goes into a nice warm output distortion at about 1/2watt, very rich in harmonics. The next stage is to DI the output and also reduce the 1 watt back to line level to drive the 400W power stage. Dave
He's off again!!
3.
DHA said: It is running in pure single ended Class A mode with Cathode bias. It will drive a speaker or the internal dummy load when the speaker is not connected. The 400W power stage picks up the signal from the dummy load which is reduced back to line level. So its the valve power stage signal after the output transformer that is sent into a very clean SS power stage.
Abso-bloodly-lutey Dave....exactly the design I would use. I would also attach a silicone nangeflaglet to the output of the reverse cathode muffplate so that the inverse current can draw sufficient voltage from the cocktruss array. What do you reckon? PS - Dave, loving the Purist VT1 mate. !!!

WITHDRAWN

You DARE post a picture of your old poof.
5. I might start a thread on large breasts then, if thats OK. Should bring up some useful links.
6. Yes, its OK, but only just. For £13 it does the job. Im gonna get a rack tuner soon.
7. Compared with all the above set ups, this looks crap, but it does what I need. Behringer Switcher - to switch between my two basses. Behringer Tuner DHA VT1 Purist Bass Valve Overdrive Pedal - it does what it says on the tin, beautifully. Just what I needed to warm up my sound.
8.
Hi, Looks really good. I assume this was from rondomusic.com? I'm very tempted to get a 70's style 5 string. Is the neck thicker front to back or wider? Cheers John
To my mind, the neck is slightly larget in all aspects, bit more Precision size...but not quite....if you see? Yes....Rondomusic.com
9. I have doubts re the body being a gen Fender. It looks "multipart", glued and varnished. There is an evident "part" of wood near the jack, you can see a join. also the rear chamfer looks to sharp to me, not rounded enough. Agree re the decal, deffo not original. He says he got the neck from the US due to the old one breaking. Hes in the UK, why get a US neck? As he has headed his ad as "Fender Jazz", I would avoid, even at a low price. Looks heavy too!!!
10. Warwickhunt will be able to help you here. I would say not to use the oil on the body, but what do I know about unpainted basses.
11. No, decided to keep the stock pups, sound really full and good output, louder than my Fender. The frets on my one were fine, no need for filing/dress at all.
12.
There is so much you can do with your right hand,
Excellent advice as ever!
13. Have you contacted GOTOH direct? They may be able to point you in the right direction for spares.
14. Ive imported an SX Jazz from the US and Id say its miles better than Squires, and cheaper. The SX range from rondomusic.net is far better than the Deacon range. See my thread in Build Diaries for more info ali-stare.
15. Jamiroquai for starters - Paul is an innovative bassist and their band is big.
16. Pic when on, please John.
17.
That's why they put them on a 73 'Jazz' instead....
Ooops....you know what I mean!!!!
18. Cant believe someone would put sied LEDS on a 73 Precision.
19. What browser are you using? Try a different browser eg Firefox or Opera and see if you have the same problem.
