Cheers Gunsfreddy, I am totally not trying to mislead anyone but I am under the impression that the stingray came in 2 different cases too, the teardrop being the rarer one. This case is very similar to a period fender case and I believe it is the original case. You are welcome to come and have a look and see what you think. I think it would be odd for the original hang tag/ owners manual to have survived 30 odd years but not the case? Like I say the bass is in absolute top condition.

Very reluctantly I have up for sale this beautiful '79 Stingray. I bought this off a top guy on here last year but my situation is now a little different and this hardly gets any use as my main bass is a Status King Bass. It is completely original and in fantastic condition with original case and even the original hang tag. it has very few marks on it for a 34 year old bass, just a little thunb wear on the edge of the neck I have tried to picture. I know I am going to regret this, but I really need the cash. You are welcome to come and try before you buy but only serious punters please not tyre kickers. £2100 Collection from Staples Corner prefered. Thanks for looking. These Sabres are getting harder to find, and there weren't a whole lot of them to start with! This is a '79 maple neck all original apart from paint removed from body by previous owner with a matt finish over it. It's been done very well and actually looks pretty good, fortunately the wood underneath looks great. All electronics, pickups, bridge, everything else is totally original, the bright switch hasnt even been rewired to active on/off like most. It plays absolutely superb with a quite low action, and sounds fantastic, the extra pickup gives much more tonal variation than the stingray. I am regretfully moving it on as I have a Status KingBass on order that I gotta pay for, and times is tight! It comes with a Hiscox Liteflite case as in photo. I am looking for £1400, no trades. I'm based right near South Mimms services for collection, or we can negotiate delivery. Thanks for looking! This is my 4003 from March 2003. It has a black scratchplate and chicken head knobs fitted, but comes with original white scratchplate and knobs and can easily be returned to standard. Also RIC duster and manual. Supplied in tatty non-original hard case. In very good condition, no major dings at all, couple of marks on the top of headstock and a little hairline cracking in the laquer and binding by the heel. Beautiful action having just been set up by Dave Wild in Highgate and comes with brand new 40-100 rotosounds. I already have a '73 4001 and I've just ordered a Status Kingbass so somethings gotta go! I'm a new boy here so check my ebay for feedback - http://[post="0"]Feedback[/post] Looking for £1350 delivered within 100 miles of WD6. Hi fellas, i use an iPad with the Amplitube app and headphones, it has some good sounds plus tuner and compressor etc built in. You can also import songs from itunes and loop them, slow them down etc for learning stuff, also it dont wake up the wife & kids in the middle of the night! I have actually used the ipad on the last couple of gigs instead of my bass pod as I only used the tuner & compressor anyway and it sounds ok to me!! I still got a Behringer BXL 450A plotted up behind the sofa, but it doesnt see the light much these days! I use it ocasionally and for the odd drum free rehearsals and its ok for a budget practice amp.

Hi Everyone, I'm not generally much of a forum type of bloke, but having surfed around you lot for the past couple of weeks I had to climb on board. I been playing about 25 years on & off since I was about 15, owned & played allsorts over the years but now very happy with my current crop. Play in a couple of bands, most recently Jason & The Skagonauts out of Cambridge. We do guitar ska covers, specials, beat, etc. & I'm loving it. Also trying to get together a jazz funk sort of band, which is about the only way I can get to play slap bass in a band without getting told to stop pi**ing about! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all but I do recognise a couple from elsewhere (crez5150- I'm still loving the BB!) Anyway take care and here's to loads of nice fat bottom! Briggy
