1. PMed and sorted! Should have some pics of my new lamp around Christmas time, hopefully
2.
Ho ho perhaps they'll run over it again and straighten it all out
You could put it in a hard case, insure it and then claim £150 on it, maybe?
3. Aarghh that is horrible! If you're that keen to get rid of it, I'll be in Cardiff on Saturday so I could pick it up if you brought it into town perhaps? I'll give you £20 for it? I have to say I'm quite keen on the lamp idea
4. Ooooooh, very very tempting... but first I'd have to be confident that I could offload my current 5-string fretless - I really don't think I need 2... however, it's pretty crap so I doubt you'd be interested
5. Indeed, nothing wrong with fluffy straps, even if they are pink! That said, they look generic and boring to me - otherwise I'd have a pink fluffy one myself
6.
Ah well found that man!
I should have remembered that much sooner really, since it was searching for ace pro basses and coming across that thread (and this one) that led me to find this website in the first place, only yesterday!
7.
Just out of interest (and certainly not trying to teach you to suck eggs) I get the same sort of sound from my amp when the batteries on my bass (Stingray) are dead or dying. I only mentioned it because it took me hours to work that one out and I was convinced it was the amp.
Many's the time I've made that mistake! Sometimes it's a cable problem as well...
8.
Go on - buy one and tell us all what it's like!!
I'm actually tempted to do so, but considering the spec, it's probably not gonna be better than my current 6-string in any way, so this'll have to wait until someone can give me a good enough reason to need a spare 6-string which I certainly don't have room for! That said, I'll recommend Ace Pro and hopefully persuade someone else to buy the 6-string so they can tell us what it's like Actually, come to think of it...
9.
Yeah You'd think they could find a native English speaker somewhere in Korea to advise on that stuff...
Or just give it a Korean name! Nobody has to know what it means, but I'm sure even "Ace Pro" in any mysterious foreign language has got to sound cool... I've got a "Flying" bass which I picked up for £60 - no apparent logic behind the naming and I've never managed to find any info about the company or any other Flying basses - you'd think they'd have more business sense than to name their product after some random English word...
10. Actually that's the 8-string version of what I've got! Exactly the same but with a high F on top - I have to say that the only problem with buying one of these is that you end up paying loooads to get it into the UK...
11. That and the name "Ace Pro" is far from confidence-inspiring
12.
alright mate,i well want a 7 stringer,much fun!
Yeah, it's my favourite by far - all the freedom of a high C (it's got 26 frets as well, although I've never found a sensible use for the top two...) with the ridiculously low F# - I like to jam with 7-string guitarists, so I've still got a perfect fourth below them... that's the only use I get out of it; other than creating bowel-trembling rumbles, that is
13. I've just bought one of these 8-strings myself and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations by far! Obviously you're not gonna get a high-end bass for this price, but it it's certainly surprisingly good - if there's a significantly better 8-string available for less than twice as much, I'd be surprised - I'd definitely recommend these to all but the absolute fussiest
14. I'm Anna - I've been playing bass for just under 3 years now; I'd describe myself as above average in proficiency, with a slight problem when it comes to modesty... I play a 7-string Galveston (low F#, but usually tuned down a step and a half, so that's 6 and a half steps below standard tuning ) as well as a 4-string Traben Chaos, 5-string Crafter acoustic, 6-string ESP LTD and a few other basses, including an 8-string Acepro I just bought which is surprisingly lovely My amp's a Laney HCM160B - I've had it for a while now and I'm constantly looking for a replacement, but to be honest it does exactly what I need and if I bought anything bigger I'd have nowhere to put it and no way to move it As for pedals, I use a Crybaby wah, Boss overdrive and a Boss multi-effects which does everything else I've just moved to Bristol and have yet to meet any potential band members - I'm absolutely desperate for a band, really! Playing pretty much anything - ideally metal, though... I play a bit of anything that keeps the fingers moving - doesn't have to be hard; doesn't have to be easy either; sometimes I'll just sit for a while, jamming along to whatever's playing on my laptop And hello to everyone!
