1. Well id say either an Ibanez SR or a Yamaha TRBX. Both have delightfully slim and easy necks even for the 5 stringers. Both are active, but the upper ranges in the series can switch to passive if that's your thing. Good luck, and most of all, enjoy! Cheers Geoff
 2. GAK are local for me, and I have bought several things in the shop. They are always helpful, offer good prices and once allowed me to change a bass for a different colour after id had it for at least a week. They also have a great bass dept, with plenty of variations on display to try out. Highly recommended if you get the chance to visit in person. Cheers Geoff
 3.
I'm just wondering how they got it through the hatch.
They brought it in through the bassment
 4.
You're a bass player. you moved house, and the previous owner had left a Trace Elliot bass cab in the loft??? What were the chances of that??
Cue Twighlight Zone music....
 5. And its a shame that the LB212 are like hens teeth...
 6.
They should keep paper bags on their heads all the way until the live final.
Contestants or judges? Or both?
 7.
I know she was a little difficult to pigeonhole but it's unfair to leave her singing outside in a field.
Boom-tish......
 8.
All electrical equipment sold in the EU must be capable of working on a range of voltages that spans both UK and continental voltages. I think it's 230 +10% -6%, i.e. 216 to 253 volts. So it sounds to me like TC man was bullshitting.
Ah yes, the TC measurement system strikes again. Perhaps they work at 236 Volts
 9. Just the two Yammies, BB414 BB1024 And subsequently GAS free for a couple of years. How strange.
 10.
My new TKS H115, two of them. 450 W RMS and 14 kg a piece. Old school with a touch of future...
Wow nicely colour coordinated there, works well visually. Cheers Geoff
 11. These basses do look like fabulous value for money, and great lookers. The only thing I'm not sure of is the headstock name - I'm more Windy Miller than Marcus Miller Cheers Geoff
 12. At a guess, Ampeg, GK and, erm.....mmmm. Nearly said Markbass, but aren't they Italian? Peavey?
 13. When I bought a US Jazz a few years back, I tried it out with one of these in the shop. Fab tone, and not lacking in oomph either. I nearly walked out with both, it was very impressive. Not really that heavy either, but these days things weigh bugger all. Lol. Cheers Geoff
 14. Welcome to the forum, thats a lovely looking bass. You realise that joining here means that your wallet will be constantly empty, don't you? The flip side is that you will always have a smile Cheers Geoff
 15. I cant see where to put the bread in. And does it do bagels?
 16.
Good evening, Animalbeats (or may we call you 'Animal'..? ), and ... From my distant memory of WEM columns, I think I'm on fairly safe ground in saying that these will be as useful for bass amplification as a pair of yoghurt pots connected with taut string. They were 'reasonable' (but no more...) as voice-only PA columns, back then, but would hardly cut mustard nowadays in that role, except for a very enthusiastic and meticulous for detail Pink Floyd tribute band (other '70s bands are available...). Sorry if this is harsh news to you, and I could be wrong (but I doubt it...). Nice idea, but there are 10" speakers and 10" speakers; all are not made equal. Hope this helps; subject to correction, completion and/or contradiction from others.
Upgrade those inexpensive yoghurt pots to some Müller Lights, and you will be sorted
 17. Over the past 5 years I'd estimate I've used my own backline 95% of the time, and I can only remember 2 occasions when my own amp was DI'd into the supplied and engineered PA (usually charity events). I rarely need to DI into our own band PA. I'm happy with my gear. Cheers Geoff
 18.
Was it not Terry's bass?
Boom boom! Twas indeed a stunning instrument for sure.
 19.
I managed to get my CTM300 for £600,
You What??? You are barred. How dare you..... Seriously though - nice one! Cheers Geoff
 20. Oh god. £60? Go for it. Bite his hand off. The GP11 is quite rare these days and highly regarded by TE users. £60??? Blimey, it's worth 3 times that if its fully working and really is 200w. It's not that heavy, and if you do consider it heavy then its still a manageable size to shift about. Cheers Geoff
 21.
or there is NOTHING going on in the trouser department with this amp
The following picture did for me though...

22. Built-in control cavity. All I need is a mighty-mite neck, some hardware and pickups. Job's a good'n.
 23.
+1 for Dunlops in metal form.
So they are the best straplocks for metal?
 24. How spooky. I'd never heard of these before a random google session led me to reading the following interesting article recently. And now there's one on Basschat! http://doktorsewage....ampeg-svt-200t/ Good luck with the fix. There's nothing quite like a nice row of power transistors for me. Cheers Geoff PS I had to google a certain word from the first paragraph, which I promise wasn't the original random search that led me there in the first place
 25.
Has anyone said Barefaced yet?
Barefaced!
