1. Bit off field here, but how about a pair of lightweight 210s? Easy to move, modular, and stacked with the drivers vertically will give good results in my experience.
 2. Alright Lee, nice. I'm pleased the Carvin did the job. I'm also very pleased those cabs worked so well. And yeah, I found that stacking them sideways made a big difference. Result! Geoff
 3.
I usually play 2 basses with this band, my fretless P-bass Lyte and my Shine 8-string. Would welcome any ideas on how to best fly with these Thanks
Stand atop Beachy Head, flap both instruments hard, and pray. I'll get me coat....
 4. Celery. And not a bass guitar, but valve amps. 28 Years ago I was using a cobbled together valve amp that hummed, hissed, and failed at any moment. Never again - give me a reliable SS amp any day. I couldn't afford one so ended up slowly building my own over a six month period. Wind forward to now, and my current fave squeeze is my Little Bastard 30. It's divine.
 5.
That's the one, gorgeous.
Yep, I'm with you there. A stunner.
 6.
If i was buying an amp now in that price range and from what you have said it would be a Genz Benz contour combo, you won't get better for £300 and you can add a cab if you need to later, i played through one at a jam night a few Weeks ago and it was brilliant on it's own, get one!
Now that seems like a good bit of advice.
 7. Not sure what size venues you play, but a Compact powered by your head of choice that does about 400w into 8 Ohms will be quite delightful... unless you need a tweeter of course.
 8.
I'm still grinning having loaded the car and smiling how freakin light this amp is...kept thinking the amp had fallen out my 2U case
Lol. Im expecting a full gig report later, you know...
 9.
Crappy plot, though.
It's got nothing on the sequel, the Thesaurus.... Anyway, back to the subject matter
 10.
Without wishing to start a hoo-hah, I also would recommend a BF - the Super Twin. It will do everything your 4X10 does. I moved from two 4X10s to two BFM 1X12s and they can produce astonishing SPLs. Two 1X12s are a lot easier to haul, as has already been mentioned. But a Super Twin weighs 18kg - the same as ONE of my 1X12s.
Hoo-hah? I love that term. There be a hoo-hah approaching from the North, I tell ye....
 11. Two 12s would be a nice modular rig, and a pair of decent ones should do pretty much most things really. You will certainly save your walls and woodwork from further damage.
 12.
Alex likes these heads. He posted a recommendation for them a few weeks ago and said they'd work well with his cabs
Cool. Do you have a link to that thread for me to have a nose through?
 13.
Apparently the maple is an option on the 2024/5's. Can't remember who but a member here has one. Don't think it was an extra either. Gorgeous.
Yeah, I remember seeing that one. It belongs to GreeneKing... 14. Oh Lee. You rascal. Doesn't that look awesome? Nice cabs, mate
 15.
I'd say that's spot on. The BX if you need to cover a lot of ground stylistically, and the B2000 if you want to keep things simple! I like to plug and play. Same reason I've got a P Bass - fewer options mean fewer mistakes, imho!
Any idea what the EQ centre frequencies are on the B2000? I couldn't find the info on the Carvin site. EDIT: Just found them on the bassgear site lol. Doh!
 16. Hey Lee sounds good to me. I'm glad the cabs are working out for you - and yeah vertically stacking is the way to go I reckon. I found that the best way. Let me know how you get on tonight. And how about a rig pic? Just to make me more jealous lol. Geoff
 17. Excellent, thanks. Nice pic too, thats a neat setup for sure.
 18.
The B2000 would be cracking with a S12. And though the B2000's EQ is simpler than the BX you can still dial in a vast range of tones. You need to remember that the EQ controls are marked 0 through 10 - but in fact they would have been better marked '0' where 5 is - if that makes sense - as 5 is flat, 0-4 is cut and 6-10 is boost. Edit: This is not the case for the Drive and Volume (Master) controls, though - 1-10 is as you would expect.
Yes makes total sense to me, thanks. I take it its been fine reliability wise? Anything to look out for from your experience with it? Also, do you have it rack mounted in anything?
 19. I was thinking the B2000's simplicity might suit me better. Would probably work well with my Super 12, and I could use the COmpact with it too - 2.7 Ohm combined load
 20.
10.5" Deep 3.5" High
Cheers Molan. Looks like it will just fit then Or the B2000 if its the same depth
 21. Lee Odd question for ya - what is the back to front depth of the BX1500? I mean from the rack mounting plate to the rear edge of the amp. I have one of those SKB shallow depth 2U rack case, and would be interested to know if it would fit. Cheers Geoff
