1. No problem at all to do this. As an aside, which SS amps use output transformers?
 2.
Yamaha BB1024(x)? Vintage passive tones by the bucketload, looks lovely and cracking build quality. Second hand costs maybe £500-600. Truckstop
I got mine new for that price. However no pan pot on the BB, instead a pickup switch. Op: you wanted the ability to pan, yes?
 3.
We should all lobby our MPs!
Ironically, I may well be doing a one-off gig with my local MP! He's released an album recently, using our regular drummer. Apparently they are doing some corporate gig and their usual bass player can't make it. I will try and mention this BF/NHS plan to him
 4.
Well I was only guessing but you certainly appear to have a lot of customers with bad backs.
I wonder if BF are available on the NHS?
 5. Hi Ive never heard or tried Krampera gear, but I vaguely remember a review in BGM a year or so ago. If you are referring to the B1B cab at £894, then it seems rather expensive and heavy for what it is. I'm sure you can save money and get a lighter and possibly better 15" cab elsewhere. You could even get a high quality 2x15 which weighs much less for that same money, and is a similar size. Like I said though, I've never heard or used one so the 'possibily better' bit may not be true... Cheers Geoff
 6. I'd guess that pairing would sound very much like the LB30 drophead combo. I do know that my LB30 and BF Compact sound very sweet together. Question for you - do you find the LB30 Mid-shift and Bright switches do very little (if anything) tonally? I get a big change from the Bass-shift switch - much more midrange in the up position. Basically nothing from the Mid-shift, and a very slightly perceptable change with the Bright switch. Would be interested to hear your findings. Cheers Geoff
 7.
Mid set action check.
Fabulous - I must try that some time :-)
 8.
The Midget sounds quite different to the Compact - don't think of it as a smaller version of the same cab. Its its own character. More mid response, and not as forgiving...and a bit barky as you crank up the volume. One of my more "accurate" amps (SWR Electric Blue) sounds quite unpleasant sometimes. Unless absolute size is a consideration I'd stick with a Compact for general gigging. IME YMMV IMO etc etc etc
Exactly this, from personal exprience (although not with an SWR).
 9.
hey Geoff, are the schematics available online?
This is the link I found on Talk bass, via a quick Google search: http://www.captnmoto.co.uk/Stats/LB30_Schematic.pdf Cheers Geoff
 10. Bought his Trace Elliot gp7sm250. Just as described, packed well and a good price. Yet to use it in the band, but no complaints so far. A good chap to do business with.
 11.
Which brings us back to the anal sex... in a way!
I like the way you slipped that in there :-)
 12. We played a local recently, and at half time a bloke said we were bloody loud in the loos. Seriously though, we played an outdoor charity thing during the summer and my sister could hear us in her garden about 2 miles away. It's amazing how sound travels.
 13.
I borrowed one just like that back in about 1995, it was blue. Hope that helps.
I used to have one similar, which I lent to someone. What a small world.
 14.
I doubt it - they're based in New York. Har, har, har! ...I'll get me coat.
Let me help you with your coat....
 15.
I think that's one-all isn't it? Shall we call it a cutlery draw?
Boom-Tish :-)
 16. Great idea, currently don't have any spare sets though. Recently gave all my back issues of BGM to the music department where my wife works as a TA with special needs kids. Seems they have so few resources to encourage them, and they love a music magazine to spark their minds. Good luck. Cheers Geoff
 17. Hi You say it's upgraded. What was the upgrade,a new driver? Cheers Geoff
 18.
UPS via Interparcel. That's what I've been using.
Ditto this. Good rates and a reliable service in my experience.
 19.
GAK are doing the V4 'Modern Relic Sunburst' version for £149: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/vintage-v4mrssb-bass-modern-relic-sunset-sunburst/18002 Be rude not to, really...
Cracking deal indeed. Mind you their delivery status of 'please phone' generally means 'not in stock'. Still a bloody good deal though.
 20. I've owned the bog standard V4, and the Tony Butler version. Both brilliant basses for the money. Each weighed a fraction over 4kg. Highly recommended.
 21.
I have a terrible problem with bridge placement on mine.
To the Tower with him...
 22. Which Thunderbird? This one.....
 23. Did you get the pickup screws and springs sorted? I'd guess standard P type ones would probably fit, wouldn't cost much to give em a try.
 24. I have one of these. Fab bit of kit, even done small gigs with it. Bargain price too!
 25. The selector switch on my 414 has a fair bit of play in the toggle. It always stays in the selected position mind you. Should be a simple quick solder job to replace it.
