I now have one courtesy of deanovw - cheers mate! Not had the chance to try it in anger yet, but tonally it's very pleasing - very close to my LB30 which I adore. I also love the form factor of these things. More to come when it's been gigged. Cheers Geoff

If possible, go for an Evo3 which has the built in compressor (which some hate, I know) and with the FS4 footswitch you have everything at your finger, er toe, -tips. Unfortunately I have no experience of the 610 you mention, so can't really help there. Geoff

I think the ABM will suit you just fine. However, if you like the tone of the EB180, don't ignore the MAG600. The MAG series are tonally much closer to the EB range, and the new MAG Evo3's have compressor and overdrive (although the latter is not a valve one like the ABM). I had a MAG600 for a couple of years before I got my ABM, and in some ways I miss it. The EQ frequencies were particularly well chosen in my opinion. Cheers Geoff

Geoff I had one of these for a while and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Still not quite sure why I sold it to be honest with you. Mine had the same tone you described and was so easy to wizz around. The only downside was a bit of neck heaviness, but that was easily solved with a wide grippy strap. Enjoy! Cheers Another Geoff

Mrs Geoff recently bought me a black T shirt with the words 'Keep calm and play bass'. My other classic fave is 'Sex, Drugs and Sausage Rolls'.

I have had the Roland Bass Cube 30watt (10 inch full range speaker) for a few years. Totally reliable, easy to use, very compact, fairly light and silly loud when needed. I've even used it for some quieter intimate gigs without problems. The build quality is very good too, Cheers Geoff
