1. Remove speaker and front baffle, and fit a small beer fridge in there.
2. Don't some of those MAG combos have wider heads than the stand-alone ones? Might not be rack width... Just a thought (see, no such thing as a daft question, only daft replies lol) Geoff
3. I now have one courtesy of deanovw - cheers mate! Not had the chance to try it in anger yet, but tonally it's very pleasing - very close to my LB30 which I adore. I also love the form factor of these things. More to come when it's been gigged. Cheers Geoff
4. Well I eventually ended up with Dean's LB550. What a cracking piece of kit, and in great condition and well packed. A great person to do business with. Thanks mate! Cheers Geoff
5.
Thanks and I like the eb but i'm not a massive fan of it and I would prefer and eq change hehe
In which case I think you will enjoy the tonal variety served up by the ABM. If possible, go for an Evo3 which has the built in compressor (which some hate, I know) and with the FS4 footswitch you have everything at your finger, er toe, -tips. Unfortunately I have no experience of the 610 you mention, so can't really help there. Geoff
6. I think the ABM will suit you just fine. However, if you like the tone of the EB180, don't ignore the MAG600. The MAG series are tonally much closer to the EB range, and the new MAG Evo3's have compressor and overdrive (although the latter is not a valve one like the ABM). I had a MAG600 for a couple of years before I got my ABM, and in some ways I miss it. The EQ frequencies were particularly well chosen in my opinion. Cheers Geoff
7. Anyone? I'm also quite interested in hearing about this one. Cheers Geoff
8.
could offer 80 for one but would need it posted to n.ireland...
Oops sorry for not replying sooner. I've had to hang fire on selling these for the time being. Cheers Geoff
9.
This gear is as hard as jason statham !!!!
Will he Transport it for me type bump?
10. How dare these spiders come uninvited, taking up residence in our amps and cabs. They will be claiming welfare next. That's the UKIP stance on the matter, apparently.
11.
A quick web search brought this up...
lol
12. Play loudly for as long as you can. From the title I thought you were building an amp lol.
13. A 1200W 4x12 that weighs just 26kg, for only £450 - and includes a padded cover. Blimey. Who'd have thought it....
14. My work here is done....
15. I understand they might be quite good. There's a chap selling one on here at the moment so he might be able to enlighten you on its abilities.
16.
What do you do during Eurovision? 1. Fuelled by your choice of recreational drugs you enjoy it for the hilariously over-the-top camp spectacle that it is. 2. Ignore it completely and get on with writing some new songs for your band.
1,using M&Ms
17. Can't go wrong with Wilkinson in my experience. Solid dependable gear - ask any Vintage bass owner.
18.
This is scary spending all this money but you need the tools for the job-keep repeating as needed.
Best thing I've read in a while. My new mantra.
19. Oh god I'd love publicity like this. It'd be on our website too - I'd have a section called 'Complaints' for this sort of thing lol.
20.
... and anyway , being a sexual deviant is a prerequisite for being in most bands . ( And being a disc jockey , apparently .)
Ooh Boom-Tish, sir. Where's a drummer when you need one?
21. Geoff I had one of these for a while and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Still not quite sure why I sold it to be honest with you. Mine had the same tone you described and was so easy to wizz around. The only downside was a bit of neck heaviness, but that was easily solved with a wide grippy strap. Enjoy! Cheers Another Geoff
22. Mrs Geoff recently bought me a black T shirt with the words 'Keep calm and play bass'. My other classic fave is 'Sex, Drugs and Sausage Rolls'.
23. I have had the Roland Bass Cube 30watt (10 inch full range speaker) for a few years. Totally reliable, easy to use, very compact, fairly light and silly loud when needed. I've even used it for some quieter intimate gigs without problems. The build quality is very good too, Cheers Geoff
