1. Turns out this is Phil's first transaction - he bought my SX P bass. A great guy, a quick payer, and good communication. What more do you need? Recommended!
 2.
I've got an 07 Highway "One" Jazz bass. It's a 3 piece nice matched alder body. Has the US posiflex graphite rod neck. MIM Tuners and came with a BA II Bridge. Has translucent wine red "satin" nitro coat. Satin Poly on the neck. The body and neck are US Standard without a tint. The routing under the guard is clean so you can go without a pickguard if thats your thing. The tuners are same as the mexican's and the current range of specials. pickups are a bit of an enigma. But essentially the cost cuts over the US standard are. No hard case. No tinted necks. No hipshot tuners. No intensive man hours buffing out clear coats hence the "satin" nitro. It's not satin its just hasn't been rubbed out....I did that my self and it looks very nice too..
I have the exact same Jazz, same colour (is it called Midnight Wine?) but 2008 vintage according to the serial number (I got it new in 2009). And very nice it is too. Replaced the off-white pickguard with an aged pearl finish instead. I'd give it a try to be honest, I've not tried the P version of the Highway One, but I'm sure it's be just as good. As an aside the original ones were called "Highway 1", and this changed to "Highway One" when they did the upgrade mods in 2006 - the most obvious difference being the BA bridge instead of the BBOT. Cheers Geoff
 3.
Mmmmm Black.....
Oh. Rather stunning.
 4.
Black and maple. Nowt cooler...
Absolutely.
 5. Price or Trade Value : £1 Is that delivered? Sorry, couldn't resist a little pun. Lovely bass. Cheers Geoff
 6. Apologies for resurrecting an old-ish thread, but to the OP: did the new ABM resolve the valve buzz issue? Cheers Geoff
 7. Well my efforts to thin out the bass collection are working - two sold, and a third up for sale. That leaves just my Highway One Jazz, and my Yamaha BB414. The latter is my go-to instrument, and am sorely tempted by a 1024. However, the Jazz will have to be released into the wild to fund it. Still too many amps - but they are all so fabulous in their own way. My recently acquired Trace AH200 is my favourite for now. Funny how the s/h stuff has taken my fancy so much. Cheers Geoff
 8.
I can update my previous post on page one and say that, yes, I am definitely using one bass, one amp and one cab now. Squier JV jazz Ashdown LB550 Barefaced super 12 I can fit it all in a Seat Arosa and keep the child seat in place! I am so rock 'n roll!
How do you find the LB550? I was so tempted to pick one up, now they seem to have disappeared. Would be a great friend for my LB30 - I love the form factor. Geoff
 9. Wow stunning. Yamaha certainly know a thing or two about making basses, don't they?
 10.
If you will post it I am interested.
Hi yes I'm sure posting wouldn't be to difficult. Prob about a tenner I reckon, assuming you are mainland UK (mobile version of BC still doesn't show locations, even in profile) . Let me have a look in the morning and I will PM you. Cheers Geoff
 11. Hey folks I'm selling my SX P-Bass which I bought as a modding project, but never really got round to doing anything with it. I have replaced the original tuners: one was broken when I got the bass, and another was on it's way out. I'm sure they were made by Edam. The tuners will need some more screws to finish off, but they are solid. Apart from that it is standard, and would make a fabulous base for some mods. However, it is totally usable as is, and I have gigged with it. A lovely neck, delightful finish and the electrics work perfectly - the volume & tone have a very smooth gradual action. I'm looking for £50 for this, and I'm near Brighton. Cheers Geoff
 12. A UK made LB30 for this amount? Now that is a serious bargain, for sure. They are just fabulous amps, and much louder than the 30W rating would suggest. Moving a fair bit of efficient cone, you will enjoy muchly. And the DI is a tap from the o/p transformer, so all the goodness is there for a delicate injection into your PA if really needed. Good luck with the sale, young man.
 13.
Nice guitar and I've heard nothing but good things about the Wilkinson branded pickups and hardware on these guitars. Whereabouts in the country are you..?
Yes I've enjoyed owning this one, now its time for someone else to get their hands on her. I'm near Brighton. Cheers Geoff
 14. It appears my car is demanding more beer tokens than I currently have to hand. So this is definitely back up for sale. Cam belt? Pah! Hi folks I'm selling my Vintage V4 P-bass. Gloss black with w/b/w scratchplate, rosewood fingerboard. No idea of this Vintage's vintage, but it is in superb condition. The neck is lovely and straight and no dead spots. Frets are in perfect condition and all works as it should. Those Wilkinson P pickups are hot and quite aggressive, but that might be because I have them set quite high. Lovely low action and no buzzing anywhere. In very good condition, no scratches or marks on the body or the neck.
 15. Welcome! Portugal is such a lovely country. I've not visited for a while but always loved it there - especially up the coast. Enjoy it here....
 16.
Geoff, pm me with your price and a pic, I may be interested.
Right I cannot add pics to a PM, so, either: a) It's not possible, or I'm stupid (the latter never surprises me) Can you PM me an email address, perhaps? Cheers Geoff
 17.
I'm sort-of there. My main practice / gigging set up is my Status, GB Shuttle 6.0 and Barefaced Compact. However I do currently have a retro 80's TE rig in development, which currently consists of an MP11 pre- and an AX500 power-amp...
I've gone a bit TE of late. Picked up an '89 AH200 head, fixed the failing output stage and it sounds amazing. Very pleased with it.
 18.

Very nice. Clean, simple, stylish.
 19.
Geoff, pm me with your price and a pic, I may be interested.
Will get on the case when I get home tonight, I have a few pics of it on my laptop I think. Cheers Geoff
 20. The first thing I saw in that last picture was Rush 2112 lol Beautiful bass, by the way....
 21.
Of course, if you're selling it for a massive profit then you might have to consider capital gains tax . . . .
Unless your name is Amazon or Starbucks....
 22.
Louder cab is the cure.
Indeed. Use the high input to keep the pre clean, mid up full, other eq to suit and push the volume. Sounds superb and loud through my Compact, and also through my cheap pair of 2x10s. Not been wanting yet to be honest. And the DI is great too - straight off the output transformer - if needed.
