1.
I did ask a couple of people that saw it, but it seems that I didn't win anything...
Ha ha you and me both. It's just not fair.....
2. I missed this year's spectacle. Or did I mean debacle? The jury is still out....
3.
You really don't recognize an advert when you see one, do you, Random? He even managed to include details of his UK stockist.
Don't worry I did recognise it - after all it was rather obvious. But I think he's allowed a little publicity, don't you? He's not the only one who does it, is he? Anyway, I still think his response was well considered and explanatory.
4. All excellent stuff guys. That's more money for me to spend on Amazon...
5. From the horse's mouth, indeed. Always a welcome thing here, especially such a well considered reply.
6.
Please note: Trace Elliott Bright Boxes should be stood vertically. That way the hiss has a better dispersion pattern relative to the player, and you'll hear it better if you're standing off-axis....
Now you are just taking the hiss...
7. I wonder if BGM will start doing this type of regular article? Only thing is the picture will be on the wrong page. And the article on another. The names will be incorrect of course, and the whole thing will be replaced by a Fender acoustic bass review every now and again. Maybe we should do it here instead...?
8. Well that's good news, and not too painful wallet-wise I guess.
9. We do songs from both bands, and they are easy crowd pleasers. I particularly like the bass riff in You Give Love A Bad Name. I saw both bands live back in the day. Not really top of my list now to be honest, it does sound all rather too processed and engineered.
10. Reminds me of when I stopped riding motorbikes. I'd ridden them from late teens up to early 40s. Ridden all over the UK and most of Europe to bike rallies, camping etc, and lived on a bike and in a tent for 6 months travelling around Europe and North Africa after I did my degree. Used a motorbike every day, for commuting and pleasure whatever the distance or weather. I loved motorbikes and everything about them. Then suddenly one day I just completely lost interest. Had no qualms about selling my beloved Honda VFR. It was very odd at the time and all my friends and family couldn't believe it. But it happened. Why don't you try something completely different for a while - even something totally unrelated to music.
11.
I think the mobile set works brilliantly and particularly like how it remembers what you have read and takes you back to it when you click on the thread again.
Ditto. Concentrate on the web/mobile development, funds permitting of course.
12. Also, I've never really got on with his stuff with George Duke. I like both their music - but not when it joins together. Maybe I should give it another try lol....
13. Gotta be School Days and work from there. He's still got it - saw him with Victor Wooten in Hamburg a couple of years back - total magic as I remember.
14.
A busy pub ?
Ha ha I like your style...
15.
Timing is also a factor. A bass player who cannot keep time is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.
Actually I think my Goldwing probably had an ashtray on it somewhere, hence why I play bass lol
16. Ditto the comments above. Have had two Vintage V4s with Wilko tuners and they are solid, smooth and a nice ratio. Also replaced some crap ones on an SX bass with some - in another league completely. Recommended.
17. A rumble of bassists was my thought too.
18. Oh that is very neat. I like your thinking there.
19.
I would actually put the MAG600 head up as one of the best bass heads I've owned, especially for its price.
I know where you are coming from. I still miss mine as a straightforward, powerful, reliable amp. The EQ frequencies are perfect too - more so than those on the ABM in my opinion.
20. LOL. What about 'Think Twice and the Ardent Whoreclowns'
21.
It's a long way to go for a 'free' rehearsal. Even the most ardent whoreclown would think twice about it.
Now that gets my vote for a band name
22.
http://basschat.co.u...g-on-this-site/ Wow, it's been going on for more than 2 years now
Ha ha nice one He don't half get about...
23.
Just thought I'd bring up a point about the subjectivity of music because, well, it's a discussion board. But some people are opposed to that so not to offend them, I removed the thread.
I'm sorry I missed the original post. This is a relatively free and open forum, and find it a shame you felt the need to remove it. However reading some of the responses without the context of the original topic is quite amusing
