What is the weight please and how does it compare to the RW in feel, weight and tone?

I have just put both basses on the scales, (not at the same time :gas: )
    Road worn = 4kg
    Burgundy Mist = 4.4kg
(my bathroom scales are not guaranteed to be accurate)

It feels exactly the same as the Road Worn neck wise. You can notice the weight difference if you go from one to the other. Its not a heavy bass though.
Tone? there is nothing in it, maaaybe less low mids but that might be the strings.

  2. Hi, here is my Fender, Mexico, Burgundy Mist, '60s Re-Issue Jazz Bass with matching headstock!!

Made in 2002-2003 it is one of the nicest Jazz basses I have owned. Being a '60s RI it has small reverse tuners, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, alder body, mint scratch plate. Its all here.

I don't want to sell it but I need to free up some cash and have a Road Worn Jazz as my main bass.

It is in excellent condition throughout. There are a few tiny dings but nothing of concern.

Price is £550 shipped in the UK. I am in Cornwall if you want to try before you buy. Any inspection is welcome.

    Comes with Fender gig bag.

Any questions just ask. I will let the pics do the talking.

  3. Thanks krazy_olie, I have an excellent repair chap near me so I may have him take a look. I will post the results if I do.

Deanow i would suspect yours has developed a similar issue, I.ll let you know if my suspicions are right, if they are having it fixed would not cost much. Could even be worth having all the green caps swapped for some higher grade ones whilst at it as they will go eventually.

  4. Try stuff out. Whats the worst that could happen?
Our guitarist tries stuff out all the time. Sometimes its great, sometimes its awful. He is a very competant guitarist, jazz player and all that. No one says anything in rehearsals. Thats what they are for.

  5. Yes it sold. The seller told me a little about the buyer. Obviously I didnt ask for, or expect, their contact details.

I was gutted I couldnt get the funds together for it. I did get a 1968 Selmer bass amp from the same seller.

I have asked to view this bass in this new auction. Zero response so far.

    Approach with caution.

  6. This is the original ebay auction. Here

This first auction was genuine. I know because I viewed the bass and bid on it. The text in this new auction has been lifted from the original.

    I say scam.

  7. I wouldn't say a thumb was better than a streamer but different. I would recommend you try before you buy.
Stingrays are awesome all round basses. You cant go wrong with a stingray imho. Once again, you have to try one out if possible.

I sold my last Thumb, bolt on, for £850.
