  1. Not even consistently wrong. 2007/2008 on the auction title, and 1966 in the description. Would even a 2007 one have a headstock truss rod adjuster?
  2. Aluminium extrusion? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303140120813 Corners: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403675119885 And use https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394102908259 and some screws to hold the plastic sheet to the frame.
  3. It's 9V DC but needs more than 500mA.
  4. At the moment the HX Stomp is on the pedalboard but I'd quite like to use the Dwarf instead. I haven't found a decent chorus yet (or at least the settings for one) though. Anyone have any suggestions?
  5. I thought he had a pause, then made one which he said would be the last one a few years ago. Then I thought I'd check that, and found the Wal-a-like from a year ago which is a Boudica.
  6. There's a pinned "Recommended luthiers" topic at the top of this subforum - you could check in there for a luthier near you.
  7. The Harley Benton can't cope with the HX Stomp plus other pedals - get a motorboat sound from it. I've been unsuccessful with all otherwise good low-cost isolated supplies when trying to power the HX Stomp - the (obsolete) Vitoos ISO-8 doesn't manage to power up, even with current doubling, the Donner DP-2 hums, and the Kokko is noisy. My solution is to run a second 5.5/2.5mm DC extension alongside the 5.5/2.1mm DC extension which is cabletied to the jack-jack lead running from the HX Stomp output to the amp.
  8. Going to have to decide that, we've only played one gig so far and I didn't think ahead enough. Need to play a song with all three of us who do vocals singing and both guitars playing, and then I need to try and work out what Mrs Zero's gesticulations mean in terms of turning vocals, one guitar, and the bass up or down (other guitar goes through backline).
  9. Happy audience, happy band members, I've managed to get the mix about right, and haven't made a mistake in more than 20% of the songs. Getting paid adds that extra frisson.
  10. Many years ago, a venue in Tamworth was put together by assorted enthusiastic amateurs. I played a gig there, at the point in my life where I was misguided enough to think I could be a lead vocalist, and got a tingle through my lips every time I touched the mic with them. I think I was lucky.
  11. It may be possible to get it reconed. I remember Wembley Loudspeakers http://www.wembleyloudspeaker.com/ being mentioned for this before (I've not used them myself).
  12. The Fender serial number lookup doesn't recognise that one with the S prefix. Without the S prefix, it says "BULLET REVERB 120V 3/PK" made in 2000.
  13. GR Bass AT500 (or 800) Cube. Under 10kg for a 500W combo (the 800 is still 500 but allows you to add a second cab if you want to cut the front row of the audience down).
  14. The bassline on that is another one that's not that simple, especially the timing round the start of the chorus.
  15. We started out as a five piece band. One of the factors in getting rid of one guitarist is that he could not play the intro to Paranoid, and despite me explaining to him what he was doing wrong (which included a wrong note) he couldn't get it right. That aside (the intro is pretty simple), the bass line has quite a few variations and I can just about play it with fingers at the original speed (I have fairly slow fingers).
  16. What's wrong with nails?
  17. Headless guitar https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325698689446
  18. That would be a rather long strap, at 0.1 furlongs.
  19. Drive to gigs (I'm the PA supplier as well). Drive to rehearsals which are 20 miles away. With a band which used to have its own rehearsal room, I left a bass at the rehearsal room and travelled by motorbike (car if it was really wet), which was enjoyable as it was a nice ride.
  20. You forgot to ask about the batteries, and which equipment would need them.
  21. I actually have one of these sitting behind me as I type: The Variax bass isn't MIDI. The Sonuus B2M isn't that great. I'm just about to fit a Roland GK-3B onto a 6-string bass but I won't be using it for MIDI, just for processing through a GR-55. The Industrial Radio MIDI basses are probably the best bet - there have been other split fret switching instruments too.
  22. Remember to look at the audience. Had I followed my own advice, I wouldn't have missed seeing the young lady in the red dress jiggle so enthusiastically at our first gig that she jiggled herself out of the top of it. Take a couple of spare leads (the guitarist is bound to need one) and spare batteries for everything that needs them. Get packed up in good time.
