  1. Decided to shim the neck. arcsin 0.00666667 (lowering strings 4mm over a length of about 600mm) is 0.38 degrees so a 0.5 degree shim will do the job nicely and should be on the way shortly.
  2. Sorry if I came over rather impolitely. There was a consensus (well, three of us agreed). Although @Downunderwonder initially suggested a sub-forum of Amps and Cabs, he later revised this to being directly under Gear but following Amps and Cabs (which was when he changed what he meant by "under" though he did also show what he meant by it). @BigRedX was also of the opinion that it was big enough to be a sub-forum directly under Gear. @Silvia Bluejaysuggested it be a sub-forum of Amps and Cabs. Could anyone else with an opinion please make it known?
  3. Not much worse than the original.
  4. Because @Downunderwonder insisted on saying "under Amps and Cabs", that's where @Kiwi has put it. It should be under Gear, a top-level sub-forum, at an appropriate position in the list (which was what Downunderwonder meant by "under" only it's completely the wrong word to use when talking about forum structure as it means "subforum of").
  5. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393975851286 will invert the polarity if needed. So you either go USB 5V to 9V -> DC connector to PP3 clip or USB 5V to 9V -> polarity changer -> DC connector to PP3 clip
  6. I expected that adaptor to be centre positive as it's for a variety of purposes and it's Boss who are out of step with the rest of the world with the strange idea of centre negative. It was the other adaptor that I was talking about, that goes from the DC connector to the PP3 clip.
  7. Last night was at the Dog Inn in Water Orton. As I pointed out to the others, we can boast something that the top rock bands can't - we know everyone in the audience by name. There was a small group of (I assume) locals who were dancing around in the first half and then went into the other room. I wandered in there when we were most of the way through the second half and tried to get them in, but unfortunately one of them thought I was inviting him to sing. Oh well.
  8. I was born in the late 50s. I've given up trying to work out what categories music is in these days.
  9. It looks like a piece of aluminium sheet cut to shape and drilled. I've done something very similar with some brass sheet.
  10. If it mentions guitar pedal then it'll be for a centre negative connector, like this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394854770055
  11. That should do the job. It will probably be centre positive which is something to bear in mind with the DC connector to PP3 adaptor. If you have a multimeter it would be advisable to check the polarity is right before applying the power to the bass.
  12. The issue is that you'll be trying to power a 9V instrument from a 5V power supply, which is the equivalent of an extremely flat battery. You'd need a power bank with a 9V output on it. I have a feeling that @Smanth found a power bank that does that but I can't find it with a quick search.
  13. Lekato MS-1? https://www.gigsandguitars.com/lekato-ms-1-iem-review/
  14. This is the one:
  15. Yes, I see what you mean now. The way you expressed it made it seem like you wanted it as a subforum of Amps and Cabs, rather than the next subforum along.
  16. Zoom MS-60B. It's got the lot. I'm going through a similar exercise as I wouldn't mind putting together a tiny board for both fretted and fretless. Steve Lawson has a video on Youtube where he goes through his effects (this was some time ago so I don't know if much has changed) and his demo of the MXR bass chorus deluxe was very impressive.
  17. No, it shouldn't appear under anything. It should be directly under the Gear section.
  18. Why not at the same level as Bass Guitars, Effects, Amps and Cabs, etc? Putting it as a sub-forum is crap.
  19. I must say the Disturbed version does polarise opinion between those of us who think it's great and the unappreciative philistines.
  20. I was interested enough to find https://www.howtogeek.com/724198/the-best-airtag-alternative-for-android/
  21. It's about geological eons. Hadean eon: 567.3 million years Archean eon: 1500 million years Proterozoic eon: 1961.2 million years Phanerozoic eon: eon: 538.8 million years Ezoic eon: 4 days (Recycled joke to save the environment)
  22. Is the truss rod thinking of coming out of the back of the neck?
  23. It's absolutely superb. I'm astonished that so many people on here have cloth ears. Maybe it's because you're all really old.
  24. That's a brilliant cover.
  25. If you want a natural finish bass, it saves a lot of work. Whoever did the scratch plate needs to go to Specsavers though.
