Wouldn't a broken coil on a P result in it not producing any sound at all? Looking at the circuit for the tone control on a P, a shorted capacitor seems the more likely culprit.

Nothing for bass - I very rarely use a plectrum and keep a couple in my wallet. For guitar, I have a (black) pick holder stuck to the front of my (black) Variax 300 to hold my (black) plectrums but haven't done anything for the JTV59 yet as I'm a bit more wary of detracting from its appearance.

Dad - classical, primarily orchestral, a little jazz (not sure if there was much apart from Grapelli and Menuhin) and the odd bit of comedy (Gerard Hoffnung, Peter Sellers, Flanders and Swann). Mum - didn't have many records, what she did have were Beatles, Freddie and the Dreamers that sort of thing. So there was a severe lack of influence (apart from the comedy).

Wireless system - Lekato, Boss or something else?

I'm another one with the Lekato WS-50 (the 5.8GHz one) bought from AliExpress. It works well - I use it for rehearsals and open mic nights, and on gigs where I'm not using a pedalboard (the pedalboards have externally powered wirelesses on them). The supplied charging lead has a forked end and two USB plugs so both bugs can be charged simultaneously from one charger. -

Having just gone hunting for a 1x10 build, I think it would be useful if this was pinned, simply as an index to the original threads. Just add caveats where particular drivers are no longer available.

If you read the OP, it says it's an iron label Ibanez, and a swift google would show that Ibanez make a 5-string multiscale bass called an Iron Label. You think you're so f#cking clever and you can't even manage to find that out? You could be a great wit - you're halfway there.

I have the Windows software if anyone needs it, which allows you to program the equaliser as a parametric EQ. I did suggest to Ashdown that they make the preamp available as a standalone pedal for the preset EQs (same as the much later Source Audio programmable EQ), but sadly they didn't do it. You can indeed take the amp out of the enclosure, which does make it rather lighter. I've had both the Superfly and the Superduperfly (1000W version) - the one issue was that the power amp is actually two power amps with no provision to bridge them. -

That's a PITA. The one string type that length is critical on and somebody gets it wrong. You can get adaptors that allow you to use normal strings on headlesses like the B2 series - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364283601229. I haven't bothered as I use Elites anyway on my B2AV and the 40-125 set is my ideal weight. Oooh, I wonder if half of a chocolate-block type electrical connector would work. After all, the actual terminal bit is brass with a steel grub screw going into it.

Strange how so many people like their mass-produced basses. Could it be because mass-produced basses are designed and constructed specifically so that parts are interchangeable and the whole can be assembled simply? I don't think you have any sort of grasp of what statistics are.

I'm not sure if Ibanez basses have dual action truss rods - if they do, I would think that the necks would be made to be pretty straight under load as the relief could be adjusted either way. Where can I download the statistics from, and exactly what statistics are they? And do you mean bass guitars in general, Ibanezes in particular, or this exact model of Ibanez specifically?

Generally £300, which is also what gigging through agencies pays. Haven't done an NYE for years, did a few with a club band (three-piece) and got £900 a time then.

Same here. I can guarantee that I'll have lost it by the time I need it (although a few did turn up when I was going through one box a few days ago, so the fretless Thumb and the SRF705 may get treated shortly).

Lekato MS-1 - wireless adapter for headphones. Then get a wireless system for the bass (Lekato do a few of those too). Alternatively, as I think someone recommended on page 1, a Nux Mighty Plug. On the left, Nux Mighty Plug. On the right, Lekato MS-1 at top and Lekato WS-50 underneath (the Tx and Rx labels are mine, easier than trying to read tiny lettering in the dark).
