  1. A weird rule to seize on.
  2. This might sound like a rather obvious question but do you know what strings were on it when you sold it?
  3. I'm waiting for a power supply that will give 20V - at 12V it would be loud enough to accompany an acoustic instrument. Sound quality seems good before distortion.
  4. Speaker connectors are speakon/jack combos and the input and output of the amp are jack sockets, so the only issue is being wary of attaching an instrument to the output of the amp. I'd leave the jumper in place and only detach it (just one end) if I needed to use the speaker as a speaker. I suppose I could use a flying lead instead of a J-J, that would be almost entirely idiot proof (it would be possible to attach the amp input to the output still).
  5. What's wrong with using the markers on the edge of the fretboard?
  6. Or maybe it has to be up to 157mS. http://www.ganssle.com/debouncing.htm
  7. This isn't a recycling of the white wine with red food colouring thing is it?
  8. You've missed a significant category there, the absent headstock, as seen in many an 80s rock video. The peer reviewing is shockingly bad.
  9. So far, I've been able to remember "Seven Nation Army", "Make me smile", and "Psycho Killer", which are the only ones I really need to.
  10. In the past: Go your own way Badge Purple Rain (my way) Current: Sweet Child O' Mine (my way) She Sells Sanctuary Make me smile (Come up and see me) - extra bonus is I do lead vocals on it Occasional: Fever A couple of my own songs, including this one (with Mrs Zero on vocals):
  11. It was built by a lutheir though. A heir to lut? Their lu? It's a mystery.
  12. Ideally, a Cort or Ibanez but it would mean talking Fair Deal down from their already cut price. There's a rather smaller selection of 5-strings than 4-strings in the bargain prices section. I've had a Squier 5-string and didn't like the neck (I think it was P-based so I would still try a Jazz 5 to see if it was better), but I do like the necks of Ibanezes and Corts.
  13. I think, if it obeys the same sort of numerical system as resistors, that will be .47. I think it means 47 x 10^4, ie 470 000 pF. The best bet is to put it on a component tester.
  14. Hohner B2 - about 3kg, 34" (865mm) scale. Aria Sinsonido - 2kg, 34" scale. There was another one mentioned on BC a while ago which I finally managed to unearth - Snapdragon folding bass, https://snap-dragon-guitars.com/collections/bass-travel-guitars/products/snap-dragon-e-bass - 2.8kg, 29" scale.
  15. Well, Fenders and headstocks are my specialist subjects.
  16. I haven't had any problems. Mind you, in 17 years, I've only made 15 posts. I suppose I have to refrain from saying anything about Fenders or headstocks if I post there any more.
  17. A couple of strategically placed cup hooks? M-F extension cable as @PaulThePlug suggests, held in place with a P-clip (eg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171504770946 or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322547600814) or U-clamp (eg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/394456647518). Or, if you can solder, put a couple of stereo jacks into a small Hammond box (1590A) and connect T-T, R-R, S-S, then fix it to the underside of the desk.
  18. As @BoomTingpoints out, CD's is a possessive. Banana's is valid if used as a possessive, eg "if the banana's peel is green, don't eat it". As sprouts are Satan's sperm, I shall ignore anything to do with them.
  19. No, that would be c'd's. See Lewis Carroll, who spells the apostrophised version of "cannot" as "ca'n't" to satirise pedants.
  20. Bloody hell, that Voyager song is awful. I absolutely hate the sound of autotuned vocals, it seems that it's an obligatory effect these days.
  21. Its terrible when people don't put an apostrophe in it's proper place.
  22. A further vote for the Ibanez EHB from me.
  23. Plenty of knee-jerk responses, nobody asking further questions. Have you been with the band long? How have relationships in the band been up to now? How many gigs have you done together? Do you enjoy playing with them? Had the "replacement bass player" remark not been made, would you have liked to carry on with the remainder and try to recruit another guitarist? Was it poorly expressed (ie. they meant dep rather than permanent replacement), in which case, are you being overly sensitive?
