Sides are 445 x 305, front and rear panels are also 445 x 305 with the front panel set back 20mm from flush, top and bottom are 330 x 305, all of which dimensions are subject to a bit of tweaking as there's going to be a bit of surplus round the edges due in part to the accuracy of the B&Q saw. Not much to show so far, I'll be making holes tomorrow if the weather permits me to go into the shed without drowning.

Well, that's the plywood and batten bought for the Plenty cab (because Juan Sheet is plenty). I wish I'd known exactly how inaccurate the B&Q saws were, I'd have risked cutting it up myself. Still, it's within a couple of minutes with a belt sander of being spot on. Next stage - holes.

The main source of interference isn't the pickups themselves, it's the big bag of dirty water that the bass is hanging from. A shielding layer protecting the pickups from the human will help.

I considered that, but worked out that I could make a cab around 34l from one sheet of 1220x610 ply. Sides and front/rear 445 x 305, top and bottom 330 x 305 (actually 329x305), inset the front panel 20mm giving internal dimensions of 445 x 305 x 261. 35.4l initial volume, 0.76l for speaker, 0.46l for ports, about 0.5l for battens and so on = 33.68l. £16 for the plywood, I think I have everything else except a cab handle, corners, and a connector plate.

New Instrument 1 day. After the Artiphon Orba got mentioned in here, I went onto the website and the Instrument 1 fascinated me - a MIDI controller that can be picked/strummed, tapped, bowed, and drummed - one came up on Ebay and I bid and won it, then the seller cancelled the sale as "item lost or damaged", then a few weeks later it reappeared for £50 more, then increased to £30 more than that [1]. And then I saw one on FB Marketplace for £30 less than I'd theoretically won the other one for, so I bought that. I have had a small play with it - took a little while to sort it out as it had been set to send multichannel MIDI which I didn't realise until I plugged it in to MIDI-OX. I have yet to explore all its ramifications. It has built-in speakers but not built-in sounds - it acts as a USB MIDI controller and also a USB soundcard. There's an editor for Windows/Mac and an app for iOS, nothing guaranteed for Android. [1] I messaged him and offered him my original winning (and only) bid. That's rather my point, I've got the best part of 2m of 68mm pipe left over from building the micro cab and using 40cm or so on a pair of ports would make me feel less wasteful. And I've got a 68mm hole saw.
