I keep telling everyone that headstocks are inventions of Satan. In the interest of remaining in control, I simply go to sleep.

I'll be interested to see how this goes - I've been thinking along similar lines myself.

Have you considered a full scale bass rather than a short scale? You're looking at this from a guitarist's perspective, they're different instruments and using a full scale bass might help reinforce that with your subconscious. From my bassist's perspective, when I want to record some guitar parts, I don't string a 6-string bass with guitar strings, I use a guitar.

"Dance the night away" is probably the easiest song I've ever learnt (two chords all the way through) and it's one of the ones I loathe the most. Not sure if I ever played it on a five string, but on a four string with 26 frets I just kept going up the neck until I got to the end, then came back down again, rinse and repeat. Otherwise I'd probably have died of boredom.

I learnt to play it wrong (in the solo) fifty years ago and I tried but failed to play it right, so wrong it remains. I'm fine on the verse.

So do we, which is why "All right now" is still in the list (although it doesn't seem to get into the set these days).

I remember Jonathan King once saying that the average song structure is verse, chorus, verse, chorus, clever bit, verse, chorus. I find it starts becoming difficult when it steps outside that general rule of thumb - for example "Place your hands" which is all over the place and which you have to remember bit by bit. I also found some Green Day songs tricky to remember as the chord sequences were somewhat weird and then got followed by outros with completely unrelated chords.

Ditto. I got to 50 seconds and gave up.

With 3.7 has come a new HX Edit Pilot's Guide, which I don't think has been updated since 3.15. Which was nice.

I've been making up some shorter power cables for one pedalboard. Because of the relative positions of power supply and pedals, I needed some right-angle to right-angle and others straight to right-angle, so I cut a few of the leads supplied with the power supply to length and soldered the appropriate half to one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261536704983?var=560412003886 which is a lot easier than splicing wires together. Just don't forget to put the O-ring that holds the plug together onto the lead before soldering the plug on.

It's about 34l, basically the largest I can squeeze out of a single 610 x 1220 sheet of ply (and with the not-very-accurate B&Q cutting). I've cut the various orifices in the panels but have yet to assemble them, I'll be pushing the front baffle slightly further forward to increase the volume a little. Would tuning to 55Hz be better than 50Hz from the point of view of improving bass response?

Somebody has gone for it. The Overlord bridge (if it is one) can be improved somewhat with a bit of filing and some brass washers, or if it's really bad replaced by Guyker or better.

Just been listening to "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac for an open mic next week. "When the rain wash shares you'll clean your nose" is actually "When the rain washes you clean, you'll know".

I have a Lekato padded strap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334402284873 Adjustable at both ends so you can position the pad just where you want it, and it's easy adjustment too. There's enough room inside the stitching around the strap button to punch out a 10mm hole for Schaller straplocks. And you can probably afford to buy four for the price of most of the other suggestions.

The headstock is even more horrible than headstocks normally are, and it would be dreadfully neck-divey and probably impossible to play seated. I do like the paint job though.
