By the time that an amp, cab, bass, or guitar has become so well established that modelling it is worthwhile, it should have recouped the R&D costs several times over. Also, there's plenty of people who can tell (or at least think they can tell) digital modelling, so they'll want the Real Thing.

The lightest rig I have had is the current one, a 500W combo (800W with extension speaker) weighing under 10kg. The heaviest rig I have had was a Trace Elliot 4x10 combo weighing as much as a small neutron star. I had to carry it up a huge flight of stairs at the first gig I did with it. It didn't last long with me. For flexibility, I'd go with separate amp and cab. For convenience, a combo. If you've got enough volume and the sound you want with the current combo and you don't mind the weight, there doesn't seem any point changing.

Early Puma 900 don't have a fan. I did modify mine with Thomas Eich's guidance, the (tiny) fan is near as dammit silent. Not sure that I actually needed it as it turned out.

On the more musical front, Gary Glitter was superb.

Headless basses are brilliant. Cut the weight by about a kilo, bass balances better, tuning is more stable, you don't put the headstock through the light fittings every time you take it on and off, and you only stick the end of it in the singer's ear if you really mean to. And they should have at least five strings, four strings are rubbish. The fact that Fender have never made a five-string headless bass is evidence that they are a really good idea.

I went to a place that cuts wood to size. I think everything was cut about 1mm too small, but I can live with that. Due to having a biopsy on my right hand a couple of days ago, I'm slightly limited in what I can do for now. I think I've got all the ingredients though, except for a grill cloth.
