  2. That is lovely grain, and you've got a veneered control cavity cover too, which is nice.
  3. A name that is larger than the amp itself. Santa (in the shape of Mrs Zero) brought it today. SD card adaptor to give a sense of scale. It's not much larger than the 18V power supply. Haven't got a cab in the house at the moment but have had a little play through headphones. Sounds pretty good. I shall bring the Barefaced BB2 in from the garage at some point and have a little play through that. The intention is to use it in the rehearsal studio - we use headphones but run a bit of quiet monitoring of everything too.
  4. I have four Warwicks. I have tried a number of Spectors. I have no Spectors. Disliked the necks, they weren't as nice as the (late 80s) Warwick necks.
  5. I have a pedalboard with a Line 6 G50 attached to it, and also use a Smoothhound live with one band with just a Zoom MS-60B. I don't notice the SH's latency when playing live, and it gets left in the gigbag at home so one of these bug systems would be handy too, for home and non-effecty rehearsals (when eventually we get to rehearse again).
  6. How big is your cat? Nothing short of a Maine Coon would be able to reach mine (the hanger stems are just over 2m off the ground).
  7. IIRC, you need to use the software with the Superfly connected direct to the computer, not via a hub, as it twangs the wires directly rather than using a driver.

At least refusing to ever play in a covers band means that you're not so far along the Dunning-Kruger spectrum that you're not capable of recognising that you're not a good enough player to be able to manage it. FTAOD, I'm in one covers band, one originals band, and two bands that play both originals and covers. And I like winding up snobs on both sides.

  15. Dunno, he produced a fair amount of musical wallpaper. We do do one of his songs but as it's "Purple Rain", it's not something that really highlights his bass playing ability.
  16. The first band that I played bass for was called Cymex. It was a brand of industrial vacuum cleaner. One of our number had a vinyl promotional single that had some dramatic music which had over the top of it "FIVE! FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE! THE CYMEX ARE COMING!". So we played that in the twenty seconds prior to coming on stage. Oh, hang on. Twenty MINUTES? I think I'd go for the Game of Throne theme these days.
  17. If something is being reviewed or commented on in a particular context, it's sensible to say so. As I play live, for recordings, and occasionally just with myself (TMI?), it's nice to know what comments relate to what use.
  18. 8-way, if you include off-off-off: 0-0-0, 0-0-1, 0-1-0, 0-1-1, 1-0-0, 1-0-1, 1-1-0, 1-1-1 And don't forget that you should be able to reverse the phase on each of them too, so you'd probably want three centre-off DPDT switches. Where's the "evil grin" emoji? Ah, 😈 😈

I don't know if they actually have their own off switches, but if there were no way of switching a pickup off, you could only ever have all three sounding at the same time which would be inconvenient from the knob twiddling point of view. Off-off-off might prove handy for bass soloes. That is, indeed, a jolly nice bridge (says a man who has resorted to soaking a neglected Hohner headless guitar bridge in oil to try to get it running freely).
