  1. You never know, their stock levels may suddenly and unexpectedly increase enormously.
  2. You changed two letters for others - z -> v, y -> i. I think a Hard Stare is coming your way.
  3. Small Fanes - the speakers they used Small Fares - bulk discount for the entire band
  4. https://www.guitarinsideout.com/guitar-sustainers-guide/
  5. This is why you should never play slap on an Ashbory.
  6. I feel that the problem is being approached the wrong way. Let the laws of physics work for you. Just become besties with Elon Musk and get him to fly you to Mars. At 1/3 Earth gravity, your bass will become considerably more manageable.
  7. There's a few basses that crop up on Ebay you could say that about, because the diseases that you catch from them will finish you off.
  8. If that was from The Bangles, it should get a hard stare.
  9. Last night, had a rehearsal with the originals band then straight off to the Shirley British Legion as a friend of mine that I used to be in a duo with some time in the 90s had said he'd be there - he's been very unwell, and lost his wife a few months ago, so I wanted to see him. He was there with another friend, the widow of the organiser of another open mic which I became the house bassist for and which introduced Mrs Zero to singing in public. The evening was finished off by Kevin getting me up to accompany him once again, which turned the clock back very effectively.
  10. Loosen off the screws you have got in and jiggle it all around a bit.
  11. Jack-jack from an instrument jack socket on the mixer. Pretty sure it was a lot more than 48V. Subsequent testing of both the mains sockets involved showed no issues. The mixer in the room is a different one now, it got swapped after the shocks.
  12. Looks like the best approach to me too - maybe put in the enclosure bolts loosely first, then the connector block screws. It should be quite easy to get the connectors positioned as you could always plug an XLR lead in to give you something to grab onto and manoeuvre the connectors into place.
  13. But you don't need multiscales in order to have headless, which balance better, are lighter, more transportable, have string tension as even as headed parallel-fret instruments, and have the same range as a multiscale with the same number of frets and strings. Plus fretless is a lot easier on a parallel-unfret bass. And possibly the most famous proponent of fan-fret, Dingwall, still hasn't produced a headless, so all of those advantages are lost.
  14. Fab! I suspect that these are at rather the opposite end of the Crafter price spectrum to mine.
  15. The MK1 Barts get unfairly maligned. They're just neutral pickups, people seem to want coloured pickups which seems irrational to me.
  16. The description does say "based on the very expensive Bass Collection models". The headstock is similar but I think it's a bit wider.
