As you've got a UK adaptor, presumably you're using an extension that has a Norwegian plug (beautiful plumage) and a UK socket in order to get the power in in the first place. Is it possible that it's that that is dodgy?

Alternatively, chop the headstock off. No problem with dead spots on my headless basses. Headstocks - just say no.

I've used UPS in the past without problems, and they do good insurance cover. It appears they may have deteriorated since then.

I've played at the Boat Club with a ceilidh band. We also played the Ricoh stadium (well, a suite at the Ricoh stadium). I'd have loved to play at the Railway, Curzon Street (Birmingham), flattened some years ago.

Dave bought a Barefaced One10 from me. Good communications, we sorted out a mutually convenient meeting place, and had a pleasant natter when we met up as well as doing the deal.

The covers band I was gigging with is on hold due to health issues - I did vote for that although at the moment I'm mostly recording with an originals band, but I'm also looking for a gigging band (which the originals band isn't at the moment). I also record solo work at home.

Shouldn't the G string run pretty much straight to the tuner rather than turning sharp right at the nut?

Looks nicely made, though the shape definitely doesn't do it for me.

I stick to 34"/863mm scale for fretless (I have several), but my fretted basses include a 36"/914mm which I don't have any trouble switching to and from.

I've been to Germany and back to gig three times, all on Easyjet, all using a normal Hiscox bass case. No problems.

Hadn't heard of it before but I'd be willing to try it and to buy it if it seemed OK.

The bass I use for gigging is a Sei Original 5-string headless fretless. For tinkling around at home, it's whatever is to hand, currently an Ibanez SRF705.

I first listened to Yessongs when I was a teenager who played a bit of guitar. I never noticed the bass. I'm not sure that making it the one instrument I didn't notice is my definition of "standout".

If you are the first to arrive and set up your gear, and, of course, the PA, don't expect to still have your bit of stage once the others arrive.

OTOH, CPS barristers (like my brother-in-law) aren't exactly paid a fortune. Still, legal aid has been eroded over the last decade or so, which is quite disgraceful. Has that second point changed since the Birmingham 6? No-one else has been prosecuted for that but they were awarded compensation (as you say, less their room and board expenses which is really adding insult to injury), although it took a decade from their release.
