  1. Fewer than 5 strings Fender/Squier/clone Painted I would say "headstocks" but there aren't enough headless basses around to do that Fat necks Single cuts
  2. I first listened to Yessongs when I was a teenager who played a bit of guitar. I never noticed the bass. I'm not sure that making it the one instrument I didn't notice is my definition of "standout".
  3. If you are the first to arrive and set up your gear, and, of course, the PA, don't expect to still have your bit of stage once the others arrive.
  4. OTOH, CPS barristers (like my brother-in-law) aren't exactly paid a fortune. Still, legal aid has been eroded over the last decade or so, which is quite disgraceful. Has that second point changed since the Birmingham 6? No-one else has been prosecuted for that but they were awarded compensation (as you say, less their room and board expenses which is really adding insult to injury), although it took a decade from their release.
  5. Roger Waters doesn't approve of the West supplying arms to Ukraine to defend themselves, and thinks it can all be sorted out through diplomacy. Well-intentioned perhaps, but utterly deluded. FTAOD, this track isn't raising money for arms, it's for humanitarian work.
  6. I thought the SGC Nanyo was very good quality, it was more that I couldn't get used to the low weight compared to the Thumb (and its predecessors, a Hayman 40/40 and a 70s Precision).
  7. " if you have no humanity in you then you probably won't" isn't the same as "if you don't then you probably have no humanity in you".
  8. It's been said several times already in this thread that Sheeran didn't "let it" get to court, he took it there as a pre-emptive action.
  9. All proceeds go to Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief, so if it makes more money that's a Good Thing (unless you happen to support Putin, of course, in which case you are an inhuman festering piece of loathsomeness).
  10. How little time it took to go from new Pink Floyd song to whether bands should call themselves bands. I found the video profoundly moving, if you have no humanity in you then you probably won't.
  11. A shame there's no picture of the instrument in its full horror entirety. It's rather unusual in that the neck is at the opposite end to the handle. Good job it's a 4-string, it means I'm not tempted to offer £45 for it.
  12. I sold a Nanyo Bass Collection bass because it felt so light (I was used to a Warwick Thumb). It was a wonderful bass to play but it just seemed so insubstantial. That was a long time ago, since 2012 my bass of choice has been a very light Sei headless.
  13. Neither. Ed Sheeran brought the case.
  14. I've got the AT Cube 800 - the 500 and 800 are pretty much the same but the 800 allows an extension cab to be added, so I got it just in case. 9.5kg, sounds good. The wooden Cube 800 is 15kg so not a lot more.
  15. I like most prog (not Rush, that voice is like fingernails on a blackboard), glam, and punk. Focus were a superb band. Still, I think we can all agree that Prince is twee and inconsequential.
  16. The national press, and indeed Private Eye, could well be interested in this from the aspect of Facebook's lack of protection against scammers.
  17. In that case, er, yes. Perusing the strange and wonderful Ebay things subforum, and somebody had posted a link to this: which I decided I had to have before I even read the specs. So I bought it, reasoning that I should be able to cope with a 36" scale (I can). Incidentally, those knobs do have some replacements awaiting installation.
  18. I currently have a matching head and cab because they're a combo.
  19. Surely it's the Fodera Stevie Wonder?
  20. That might have something to do with the inch-high bridge saddles (and the pickup trying to escape from the body).
  21. (sorry I'm late) That's rather nice. A singlecut that I could actually bear to have.
  22. I have a Vitoos Iso8 which worked well and noiselessly with a Zoom B3n, G50 wireless, mini mixer, and MidiPlus MiniEngine sound module with McMillen 12-step pedals. However, it didn't have enough oomph to power the same board with an HX Stomp instead of the B3n plus a Raspberry Pi-powered soft synth module. I will be experimenting with a 12V 4A power supply running into a number of DC buck step down modules to see if that can do the job without noise.
  23. Years ago I bought some like these: https://sparedparts.com/products/589231 I've mislaid the ones that were left over, but I still have a couple of pedals attached using them. Alternatively: https://www.meccanospares.com/zinc-and-stainless-original-brackets.html
  24. I've just joined the ranks of Ibanez owners with an SRF705, which is jolly nice. The piezo bridge was a significant factor in wanting this. If only they'd put piezo bridge saddles on the EHB1505 and done a fretless version...
  25. I would have preferred properly unlined but I can cope (although a source of mild confusion is the fact I had the dot markers on my lined fretless Sei moved to be on the lines rather than between them).
