I wonder if anyone will ask him to play "Walking on the moon" while walking on the moon. He's an entertainer who uses his ability at playing bass as the lynchpin of his entertainment. I don't understand why he should have to play in a band to somehow validate his existence. Or, indeed, why he should give a flying fig what a load of considerably-less-listened-to bassists say on an obscure web forum.

Additional context would be useful, like the average wage in Bulgaria. Bridge looks like a Schaller 3D, no expense spent on the knobs though. As house prices in Bulgaria are about 1-2% of house prices here (4 bed detached houses starting at £3k), I'd guess that bass prices would be a bit lower too. So I'll go for £45/95 leva.

My non-fretting hand has a slightly larger span than my fretting hand, so 45 years of playing hasn't increased my span. One finger per fret is very useful for the standard walking bass line. You'd normally use three of the four fingers rather than all four, which I think makes things a little easier.

It's apparent from articles a couple of years ago that she approved of Theresa May in very strong terms. Given Peter Gabriel's political views, it doesn't seem so likely that she'd have been an ardent right-winger at the time of "Don't give up". As for the voice and the material - liked the first three or four albums but "Hounds of love" was IMNSHO rubbish.

Capos don't help, and nor do odd chord shapes - the guitarist in the covers band I'm now in can't play barre chords and even plays open G oddly (frets top G with a finger, bottom G with his thumb, and doesn't care that he's got an open A playing) so I have to try to remember to look at the charts on my music stand and not his hands.

Maybe the seller has a matching pair, 6-string and 4-string. There isn't currently an auction for a 6-string though.

You can get single-string tuners, but they're not cheap either - £40 apiece from ABM.

I'm either going to be up for this or the first to break it - found the bass I was after, in Italy, and due to both the seller and me being busy over Christmas, we've agreed to do it all post-Christmas.

They have the suffix "M" if they have the magnetic pickups, so that would be (but isn't) a CR5M.

Cheap headless 4-string bridge/tuners are easy to come by, not so 5-strings.

Unfortunately, it coincides with one of the two annual meet-ups with a bunch of fellow bikers that I go to, and I'll be 100 miles away on a motorcycle at the time. I had hoped to get to this as I've missed the last two.

I've found that playing with the current covers band, where the percussionist supplies the PA, we don't have much gear generally, and a BF One10 is all I need, means I don't feel like I've been hit multiple times by a baseball bat the next day. If I have to load up my PA and cart in a load of stuff, I start the gig with a problematic back.

At least some of it is on Youtube, though there doesn't seem to be a DVD.

One of them has built a rocket, and managed to go up a little way and survive coming down, in an effort to prove that the earth is flat. There is also a nutter who thinks that, based on his observation of a shadow, the Earth's axis of rotation is now a lot more inclined than it was.
