  1. The VAT would still have to be paid, at the German rate, when buying it.
  2. Klos have got their $700 off deal going again. https://klosguitars.com/products/carbon-fiber-5-string-bass?variant=41170495078443
  3. As Nick Drake has been dead for years, why would he be bothered by Mark Lamar?
  4. I'm not sure that any of my active basses with passive pickups (all of them except the Warwicks) have buffers prior to the blend. My Sei Original did originally (see what I did there?) have a Bartolini preamp that buffered the pickups prior to the blend, but it went titsup so got replaced by a Delano that doesn't.
  5. Pulling my knob wouldn't help on my Ibanez EHB1265MS, or my Sei Jazz - but the toggle switch would.
  6. No, flanging isn't the same as phasing, it's more closely allied to chorus. https://producerhive.com/ask-the-hive/chorus-vs-flanger-vs-phaser/
  7. But the G of Garage is a hard G. The g of garage, however, is a soft g.
  8. Might be worth getting one of those watch polishing cloths mentioned in the polishing up yer frets thread and cleaning up the keypad, in case there's some mucky bits - I think, as @Woodinblack says, it's a resistor network so stray resistances will mess it up. Incidentally, there's a reddit group for it (just happened across it in a search). Might be worth a look.
  9. Maybe they thought people would automatically pronounce it "muggerfugger", like the word "melonfarmer"[1]. [1] https://greensdictofslang.com/entry/pzv2lqa meaning 2.
  10. GR Bass's carbon fibre 4x10 weighs 13.3kg for the 800W version. It's not cheap at £1299 though (the same price as Barefaced's 4x10 which is 10kg heavier, or two LFSys Monacos which each weigh the same as one GR Bass 4x10).
  11. At least none of us have been driven to anjer.
  12. It seems bizarre that the seller has a reasonable set of photos but can't be arsed to put a narrative to them.
  13. Just stick two finjers up at him.
  14. The chipset on the MS-60B+ is an improvement on the MS-60B, though I'm not sure how noticeable that would be. It's also got somewhat easier to use live buttons. On the downside, the only editor for the MS-60B+ is Zoom's one on iOS only, and Tonelib don't do one for it. There is a Tonelib editor that will do the MS-60B which is available for Windows 64-bit, Windows 32-bit, and Mac. There is also an Android version but it's no longer available on Google Play, although there might be an .apk knocking about.
  15. I'd quite like one though. In natural.
  16. No, what you really need is this: https://reverb.com/item/70395452-dean-john-entwistle-spider-bass-limited-edition-only-25-made-fenderbird-2019-natural (sadly sold) Or maybe http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_spyders.html Or perhaps https://reverb.com/item/541029-dean-john-entwistle-spider-electric-bass (also sadly sold)
  17. Not mine. But I think this is reasonably good looking - I'm all for minimalist headstocks and there's very little surplus wood on this.
  18. I don't understand the misconception that the only point of a 5-string is the bottom 5 notes. It isn't as if it's a huge secret.
  19. If I'm not using the C string for anything then there's no point having it. You do realise that with a 5-string strung BEADG you don't have to stretch across an extra string to reach the E, A, D, or G strings, don't you?
  20. I'm not going to mention my 10 string then.
  21. Not a valid comparison. If the notes you play are mostly or entirely those available on a 4-string, playing them in the same position on a 5-string means the same stretch for the fretting hand, whereas playing them in the same position on a 6 means stretching across an extra string. Which is why I play 5s and not (often) 6s.
  22. Shipping costs including time travel are prohibitive.
