1. What can it mean to a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
  2. Lead vocals on one song, backing vocals on a few. I was bassist/vocalist with one band but TBH I wasn't very good at the singing side of it (I didn't like to admit it though, not even to myself).
  3.
The very simple but very famous bass line in 'Radar Love' is also up there, but the unison guitar/bass middle 8 is not compulsary.
It's also not unison. As I had to point out to my previous guitarist... I could, of course have missed your point
  4. The Yes song "Roundabout" was about junction 7 of the M6.
  5.
Unfortunately we're often up against IT professionals who get 3x that for a day's work in their day job and whose idea of fun is to play a NYE gig.
As an IT professional, I can only say: if only...
  6. What's love got to do with it? Did you ever wake up with the bullfrogs on your mind? If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?
  7. 806 after 5 pints. That's close enough for rock'n'roll, especially as I was putting a bit of feel into it. Now to get Mrs Zero to do it, to see whether I should confiscate her tambourine...
  8.
A set of D'Addario black nylons will transform it!
Fifty quid for a 5-string set - I think I'll give the Status nylons a go.

    Amazon

I use stringbusters.com, good service and I think they're generally cheaper than Strings Direct.
  10. Peavey Grind BXP. Just thought I'd mention it as no-one else has...
  11. I bought the PA (though as Mrs Zero is the singer and we share funds, I suppose you could say she's contributed to it). However, we've finished up using the guitarist's mixer and outboard EQ with my SRM450s (and a pair of Behringer active speakers for monitors). The guitarist also supplies half of the lighting. We all store and transport our own gear and give each other a hand at the venue with unloading and reloading. I never realised just how lucky I was.
  12. I've done Munich and back with Easyjet three times with basses in Hiscox cases. No problems, and they seemed to take good care of them.
  13. Pressing F5 doesn't make it move any faster. Damn.
  14.
Good to see you're getting one (almost certainly).
It's in Koln now, so I shan't start tapping my fingers just yet.
  15.
Saw that. Bought that. Let's see if there were any left.
There were!
  16.
Classical guitars seem quite popular here. Is that because of the common use of fingers between basses and classical? I still feel I want to wait until I find if the Santos series models return.
I started on a classical guitar (to be strictly accurate, my brother's classical guitar) before moving to electric and then bass. I do have a couple of steel-strung acoustics in the house but not a nylon-strung one so it would add to the sounds I have available, if I ever get off my arse and start recording stuff properly.
  17.
CG300CE electro-acoustic classical guitar as bought by Shockwave (if I remember correctly.) Back again: http://www.thomann.d...0ce_nt_deko.htm
Saw that. Bought that. Let's see if there were any left.
  18.
Eh? Looked at counter, said exactly 82,000 views. Wrote "Nail on Head " and it had jumped 34 in 10 seconds!
Is that why you're being tautologous, with both "over" and "plus" in the title?
  19.
There's really only one course of action, in that case... get hold of one and use it at a gig.
I'm trying to sell a cab, not buy one...
  20.
Thanks for posting, I remember that thread. As the OP says it was very likely a Friday afternoon job and it did get sorted out pretty quickly. And it was six years ago.
Yes, looking back at my first post on the subject, I did say it was for the older generation cab but should perhaps have made it clearer that I wasn't implying that the new ones would suffer from poor QC. I suspect they went through a bit of an iffy patch. It does also seem that the customer service was good where there were faults. Haven't used a Schroeder myself, it was one I've considered and I don't think I was put off by the reports.
  21. Aha, found one of the references, and it was on BC: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/53995-schroeder-cabs-issuesforgotten/
  22. Fretless natural 5-string electro-acoustic is back up: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_b_35fl_nt_acoustic_bas_deko.htm
  23.
I'll have a look for that later. Mine isn't showing any signs of deterioration. It's ten years old, but to be fair it hasn't been toured or anything. I have it on fairly big castors, I don't know if that makes a difference... though it does tend to get used as a trolley for the rest of my gear.
It wasn't so much whether it would fall apart but the quality of the finishing where it wasn't visible - ragged holes in baffles, that sort of thing.
  24. If he didn't use any synonym for faeces then assume it to be a compliment. Note that the suffix "-hot" is a qualifier which reverses a synonym for faeces into a compliment.
