1.
I love watching keyboard players squirm playing numbers in C# and even F#.
Stuff that, my keyboard has a perfectly good Key Transpose function.
 2.
If you have an adversion to F and Bb etc I guess you don't play with horns much..??
Or maybe it's playing with horns that gives you that aversion.
 3.
TBF, given the time signature, dancing to Floyd's Money could be an interesting exercise.
My old club band used to play one club where they liked to line dance. They tried it to "Music" by John Miles once. The 7/8 section proved quite amusing.
 4.
But that's what I'm saying, bass was starting and stopping. Some songs had none and NO ONE. Noticed. They were all up dancing and having a ball. All they were interested in was the beat and the melody and obviously, the vocals, which I supply too, so I was powerless to do anything about it as I was trying to keep the show rolling.
I think that as long as a song isn't too butchered, as long as it's familiar, the typical audience member will hear the soundtrack inside their head, not the song being played in front of them. The ones who'll definitely notice are the musicians in the audience and any agents who've popped in to check you out.
 5.
I would have thought even a casual listener would have to have the Ziggy album, which covers both those tracks, in addition to any compilation. I thought the compilation was great, covering some different stuff, and love the new track "Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)".
"John I'm only dancing" isn't on Ziggy, it's only on compilation albums. Gets rather unjustly overlooked too.
 6. I'd rather like my old Hayman 40/40 back, mainly for sentimental reasons. PXed it for a Precision in the late 70s/early 80s (which I'm not sure was the best thing I could have done), and then traded that in for a Warwick Thumb that I still have.
 7.
I have one of the early V-Amp2 units. One of the amp models, as written on the front, is "Amercian Deluxe". I noticed later models being spelled correctly. I held onto it hoping one day it would become rare and sought after
It could be desirable to anyone who lives in Mercia...
 8.
I am not a fan of the "open mic" and we have a lot of them over here. Usually if your not a friend of the host you don't play. Plus over here they seem to attract a disproportionate amount of newbies. Usually they are geared towards blues harp players or lead guitarist only.
Nothing like the ones over here, then, where a certain amount of juggling and time reduction occurs if there wouldn't be enough time to fit everyone on otherwise. And the host is often the one who plays least.
 9.
I haven't read through this thread but I'm assuming the previous 41 posts is everyone saying their current rig is the best they have ever heard?
In my case, it is the best rig I've had, though that's not to say that the Berg AE112s might not have sounded even better with the EA iAmp800 I used to have. In fact, I'd say that the EA iAmp800 and Tech Soundsystems ND410S was also a formidable rig.
 10. Must try that with "Money".
 11.
I'm a big Berg fan, but the digital interface makes me think of those awful Ashdown abonimations. *shudder*
The front end of the Superfly was rather good. The power amp side was less well thought out and implemented. I'd really like a switchable programmable graphic/parametric EQ like the Ashdown provided.
 12.
- having to park on double yellow lines whilst loading; - having to park 10 minutes' walk from the venue; and
The Grapes in Stafford is like that - park on the pavement to load/unload (the local constabulary don't mind), park on a road a five minute walk away, but on the positive side, they have a PA so they're forgiven.
 13. Current set-up - Sei Original bass, Tecamp Puma 900 head, 2x Berg AE112s.
 14.
If someone coils my cables I have to uncoil them and start again!
And me. And Mrs Zero is the biggest culprit. At least she's a good cook.
 15. No problems playing (up to a 7-string), I do move my watch though - I'm awkward and wear it on the inside of my right wrist rather than the outside of my left.
 16. Tim had an unloaded Omni 10.5 off me, all went very smoothly. Hope the band gets properly under way soon! Cheers, Mike
 17. There's a theoretical advantage if you have two outputs from the amp to run one to each cab, as if you daisy-chain cabs, the signal to the second one passes through two leads and four connections. I doubt very much that you'd hear any difference unless you were using particularly dreadful leads.
 18. I meant GK MB150 or 200MB as a possible replacement for the Hartke. About as small as a 12" combo can be and very light.
 19.
Picture three looks like it's been used as a hi-hat....
You've got to hammer the marquee pegs in with something.
 20.
Already have a light weight set up, but very powerful. Just wanted to have a small portable combo for practice once a week, and the Hartke always fulfilled this until now.
GK MB150 or 200MB?
 21.
With a bit of luck everyone should leave with a prize worth more than the entry cost.
You realise that if everyone wins a 25% discount voucher then people will get suspicious?
 22. Our guitarist is unavailable that weekend, so no gigs for us - will definitely try to make it, I enjoyed the last one. tauzero - perm a few from Sei Original, Status Series 1, Antoniotsai, Dean 10-string, Warwick Thumb, Mrs Zero.
 23. One band - "I saw her standing there" followed by "Sex on Fire" (and we use "Comfortably Numb" to finish the first set) The other band - "Born to be wild"
 24. I normally play fretless, though I can swap between the two and my backup bass is fretted - as, indeed, are most of my basses.
