I suppose I should point out that anything over 100% isn't really logical. % = per cent = one part in a hundred. Ergo, NOT one part in a random number MORE THAN a hundred. Oh, and not 'percent' either (unless you're American). I could say I'm not normally this pedantic,....but I am
As it happens, anything over 100% is perfectly logical but only if you're not talking about a subdivision of something. So 400% of a cake is just silly (and very, very fattening), whereas a rise of 400% in the price of cake means that the price is now five times what it was, so your waistline is safer.
Also Rig. This is my Bass Rig. Is it fully articulated? Do you run with the radio handle "Rubber Duck"? No this is your amplifier and associated peripherals and accessories.
What on earth has being articulated and being a rubber duck have to do with having both testicles undescended?

Our gig on Saturday in Sutton Coldfield was cancelled as the pub manager who had booked us was sacked.

I have a Rolls MP80, yours for £35 + shipping. http://www.rolls.com/pdf/M_MP80.pdf I never got round to using it with the Superfly or the Superduperfly. Can't remember whether the Superfly will phantom-power it - if not, IIRC it uses a typical 9V effects pedal power supply.

You haven't got a lead plugged into the effects return, have you? Or got the mute switch pressed in?

I emailed KMC a bit earlier - emailing Genz Benz just goes to Fender who then say that they've flogged it and to get in touch with Chris Cretella at KMC (see post #1). His reply: Hello, There is currently no plan for Genz Benz to go back into production. Best, Chris So that's it then. A sad end to Genz Benz. Looks like there's a few companies who could use "F$cked by Fender" as their slogan...

Ashbory put through a reverb to give it a very short-term extra resonance.
-
I've got a QTX PB-1 and the guitarist has a couple of floor-standing LED PAR cans, which we control via DMX (guitarist has programmed that up).

Looks as if KMC have all the non-core brands like Takamine now. Fender concentrating on their core business and letting everything else sink or swim under a holding company?
I know what you mean - I was at Uni 1976-1979, always had enough money to supplement the god-awful food supplied at the hall of residence I lived in (Commonwealth Hall in Russell Square - any other former inmates?). Those were the days - studying in candlelight during the 'winter of discontent'!
Ah, you were round the corner from me - I was in International Hall, but that was 1975-76, and that was where I joined my first rock band and took up bass.

Steinberger Spirit stick bass - serious sustain
tauzero replied to Jenny_Innie's topic in Bass Guitars
Two things I would say. Firstly, I'll need to do something with the strap to push the body to the right a bit. I see the Synapse model does this with a strap button extension thing. I can probably get one of those and fit it to this somehow.
I've seen a Hohner B2 modified to sort this out - they'd just moved the strap peg from the back of the neck to the bit of body just above the neck. Ah, here it is: http://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/basses/hohnerb2aprov.htm Shall have to do that to my B2AV too. -
Just to chuck another one into the mix, there's the Peavey Grind. Also worth having a look at a Mazeti 5-string if you should happen to see one (which TBH isn't that likely).

The Status forum http://statii.com is probably your best bet for finding out what it is. Having had a look around with Google, it looks like Series 1 can be either graphite or wooden necked, and yours does look like the Series 1s pictured. And that birdseye maple facing is lovely, I'm amazed that anyone would paint over it.

There is no absolute answer to this question, it is always "one more".
Who apart from Robert Fripp plays sitting down?
Steve Lawson.
I like to cut the scone in half, then spread jam before cream on one half and cream before jam on the other, people just can't cope with that.
Ah. You actually live in the Tamar, don't you?

Do you/your band rehearse with full gigging set-up?
tauzero replied to Lozz196's topic in General Discussion
Interesting point about rehearsing in a circle. Anyone find it difficult to subsequently play in a line at a gig? Anyone rehearse in a line, or as you would at a gig?
You gig in a line? Dammit, I thought we were supposed to go in a circle. I don't have any problems going in a line, and, for that matter, I'm side-agnostic so I'm not bothered which side the guitarist and I go. As he's the same, we can decide where to go based on pragmatic reasons, like where it'll be best to put the mixer etc (which he controls, which is nice) and who'd got the headless instrument (that's always me). -
Would there have been holes for ashtrays by the bridge in a 69ish Jazz?

I use expanding toggles if there's a gap behind plasterboard. There's a handy page at http://www.naturalhandyman.com/iip/inffastener/infanchor/infanchor.html which tells you pretty much all you need to know.
Also I'm not sure that the OP knows what "ad hominem" means, it's really quite specific: You're English/an idiot/less than 5 ft in height THEREFORE you're wrong = ad hominem You're wrong, THEREFORE you're an idiot = not ad hom You're an idiot (without reference to argument) = not ad hom
Although an ad hominem is a logical fallacy, it doesn't mean that it's wrong.
I had some time out. When I came back I excluded Off Topic. I should have done that years ago.
Although I didn't take time out, I gave up on Off Topic (apart from the F1 thread) a couple of years ago. There's still too much for me to read.
Mustang Sally would do a great job of showing off nothing but half a dozen notes on the E A and D string. Come on..... That's not a demo...it's showing you can play the most kicked to death, sing a long song of all time. You need to go past the 5th fret to show a bass off. I think we both have a completely different concept of what demonstrating the potential, and capabilities of a bass guitar are...
The way I play Mustang Sally is at the 8th fret on a 5-string and uses all 5 strings. Dance the Night Away has potential, whenever I play that I get so bored that I progress up and down from playing the B as the open B on the bottom string to playing it on the 21st fret of the D string. Plenty of movement up and down the fretboard, although anyone listening to it will probably fall asleep.
