Another vote for Warwick. The neck profiles are inconsistent though - I played a few 5s at Bass Direct and subsequently bought a Buzzard 5, and all the necks were a little different to each other. The Buzzard actually turned out to be the closest to my taste as it had a U rather than a C profile which made it feel less bulky - you'd probably want the opposite. Definitely play before you buy.

A GK MB150E and a Triumph Tiger 1050 to carry it round on.
Just remembered where I'd got the original idea from - this very forum... http://basschat.co.u...-effects-board/
I still haven't got round to actually putting mine together!

There's the Ashbory too, no longer made but when they crop up secondhand they go for £125-£150. Kala also do the solid-bodied SUBs, hideously expensive for the ones made in the USA (over a grand), rather more reasonable for the non-USA one but still quite a bit more than the non-Kala bass ukes.
Ghost_bass is right, go for super long. Look out for the SL at the end of the item code to denote super long, they won't be tapered.
OK, just to clarify it's not through-body strung, it's through-bridge.
-
I use D'Addarios on my Variax guitar. I'm thinking of putting a set on my Sei 6 (well, somebody mentioned flamboyant somewhere upthread). For a 35" scale through-bridge strung 6, would I need the normal or the super long scale EPS strings? And are they taper-wound at the bridge end?
Ha! Out of interest, why the copper pot??
Because that's where we're playing New Years Eve (following a rather enjoyable Halloween gig a week ago, with twenty or so Draculas singing along to "Sweet Home Alabama"). That's if the number of strings doesn't confuse me too much.
Joe Morello is one of my very top favourite drummers. I've even, unwittingly, adopted his stick-dropping technique..!
That's something that seems to have seamlessly made the transition from jazz to rock.
Changing drummers is always a pain and you generally have two ways of kicking one out. 1st is to sack them and then audition and 2nd is to audition and then sack them. The 1st way feels really dishonest and the 2nd way is a huge risk.
Vice versa, surely? Audition and sack is the dishonest one, sack and audition is the risky one. PS. There's some bloke dresses up as a zombie that the OP might like to get drumming for him.
Very nice! Don't suppose this will be at next years Moffat bass bash?
Probably, as long as I decide that I can cope with 6 strings. Might even take it to the Copper Pot in Leamington Spa on New Years Eve for Kev to lust at
In a separate development , Seal has teamed up with Gene Simmonds to cover the well known Brian Hyland song, 'Kissed by a Seal'. I only have one in my signal chain at a time but have quite a few around Zoom B3 Zoom G3 Zoom MS-60B Korg AX3000B Korg AX1500G Two or three Tanglewood tuners (I like these but they're obsolete now) Three or four cheapo tuners so I can stick one in every case One clip-on, good for use with the Variax guitar but an epic fail on the headless Sei
Factory fretless or defret? http://www.ebay.co.u...3cAAOSw~bFWJldW
With the one bit that's not got close-ups being the fretboard? Looking at the uneven colouring of the fretlines, notably above the 12th fret, I'd say a defret but the fretboard doesn't look like it's suffered in the process. -
I had a Frontier fretless bass which had a bridge like that - haven't seen it on anything else before. Perhaps I shouldn't ignore Hohner Arbors.

After my recent redundancy and reemployment, I thought I deserved a bit of retail therapy. So here it is, one pre-loved Sei Flamboyant 6. First impressions are a lovely neck, string spacing a bit wider than I'm used to at 17.5mm. I haven't put it through a proper amp and cab yet, that's yet to come.
Although I have no great love for 'coffee table' basses, I dislike wanton destruction of this sort.
Exactly. This is the sort of job that Squiers were made for.

Halloween gig in Leamington. Had thirty Draculas (a stag party) singing along to "Sweet Home Alabama" and "I'll be there for you". I nearly drowned in sweat in a werewolf mask (I didn't stay in it for long), Mrs Zero was one of the Wicked Witches, and our guitarist was Ozzie for a night.

Oh, and the general appearance is pretty good. I think you've got a sound basis to work from. I'd be inclined to merge the About page into the Home page and then perhaps have a separate Songs or Repertoire page and another page for the band personnel.

Because of the way that Wix does its websites, the whole site runs inside a frame. That is a problem for search engines. If you're not bothered about people being able to search for you then that's OK. Wix's optimisation for phones doesn't work very well. I suspect something about the way that the background is displayed so there's a very long background image which makes the page seem very long and narrow, although the menuing does change for a phone so it's obviously doing something right.
Auto play media is never ok as far as I'm concerned. Guaranteed to put me off a website, regardless of its purpose.
Agreed, I'm absolutely against it.

Anyone in a band with NO interpersonal issues???
tauzero replied to mingsta's topic in General Discussion
No interpersonal issues in our band now. Three was never direct conflict in the past anyway but the old drummer was getting frustrated with the old guitarist. There would definitely be problems if I had issues with the singer as I'm married to her. -
"Seriously?".. albums you like, but you're flying solo...
tauzero replied to The Admiral's topic in General Discussion
I still have my copy of "Glitter" by Gary Glitter.
