Is there an issue with file sizes on BC
tauzero replied to warwickhunt's question in Site Issues and Questions
Have you got to your overall limit for uploaded files? -
Not sure I'd use the term "supergroup". "Special group", perhaps.
-
Given his gammonness, perhaps "Whitesmith" would be appropriate. And as 40% of Oasis, maybe the Gallaghers could be "OA".

Please excuse the rubbish graphics: The sleeve isn't shown as connected to anything but it goes to the various grounds, the ring goes to battery negative and is connected to the sleeve when a mono jack is inserted, and the tip carries the signal.

If you can't pull the jack far enough out of the body to be able to unsolder the wires with the jack out of the body, you will make life much easier for yourself if you extend the leads so that you can - just don't forget to thread the leads through the nut before putting them through the body. Barrel jacks are consumable items - you're lucky at 27 years, my quite infrequently used 2000 Thumb is in dire need of a replacement (the fact that it's infrequently used does mean it's not a priority) and I have a far more recent Ibanez that needs it.

No, you assign a single MIDI note to each pad. It doesn't have built-in sounds, it's just a USB only MIDI controller. You may want to look at the McMillen 12 Step https://www.keithmcmillen.com/products/12-step/ - you can assign up to five notes to each key. Again it's just a MIDI controller, and USB only (with an optional expansion box to allow conventional MIDI connections) so you'd need a sound module that can do organ sounds.

King Dick? The spanner, I mean.

I remember Jonathan King defining song structure as "verse, chorus, verse, chorus, clever bit, verse, chorus". Alice Cooper, until at least the Billion Dollar Babies album, used to put their guitar solo after the first verse and chorus, not the second.

Did the Custom not have the nobbly top horn then? -
I can see the next owner saying "what tw@t put an imperial size truss rod nut on a metric bass?"

I got you babe, Delilah - 3/4 rather than 6/8 but just multiply both sides by 2. PS. Of course it depends what discos you go/went to.

Botox and Fillers (would you) audition related

I'm sure Noel and Liam will let you know straight away. -
Ah, that'll be me not having a clue what any of the pedals do because the names don't tell me much. I'd just assumed that the DHA Broken was the fuzz.

Must it be a combo? You could make a BC house jam cab and use it with a Hotone Thunder bass amp (or, indeed, any old bass amp as long as you're careful with the volume).

A chap came round to survey our loft for boarding out earlier on. His dad had bought Definitely Maybe when it came out and that had been the defining music of his youth. He was going to buy tickets (he also said he wanted to get them for the first show as who knows what would happen then), but he wanted to go with his mates (one set), with his wife (second set) and with his kids (third set).

Suggestions for intermediate 4 string fretted electric bass

Cort GB4 Custom (not the current GB4) or the nearly identical Cort GB94. -
It's not the music that I have an issue with, it's that horrible whining Mancunian voice. And nobody's mentioned the David Bowie plagiarism - that little C F D G at the end of the chorus lines in "Stand by me", a straight lift from "All the young dudes".

I know what it reminds me of.

We had an outdoor gig in Walsall - there was cover over the band, but no chance of moving indoors into the tiny pub if it rained, and it did seem rather ominous (it pissed down in the morning, and briefly in the early afternoon). There was a singer on before us, who finished at 5:15, and we were due on at 6. Working round him as he knocked down, we managed to get completely set up and ready to go by about 5:55, brief soundcheck and we were off. Due to the failure of the woofer on my combo, I was using a Tecamp Puma 900 and BC 112 Mk3 cab, and I noticed that on low notes on a dirty patch I had, it was making rather horrible noises, so I stopped using the dirty patch and all was well again. I did ask Mrs Zero to take some photos, but almost all of them she took while the two guitarists were playing "Time of your life" and the drummer and I were doing nothing. Well, I was doing the traditional "waving of the candle". However, we did have a stage invasion.

I don't know for certain what may have caused this - however, using a Tecamp Puma 900 and a Basschat 112 at the gig I did on Saturday night, when using a particular dirty patch on my Helix I found the speaker making unpleasant noises when I played anything from bottom G or so downwards (unpleasant enough for one guitarist to comment on it). I kept away from that patch, only using clean patches, and didn't have any further problem. So I suspect it was using a patch that caused too much speaker excursion or some other physical damage to the speaker, but I don't know for sure. However, that patch is getting deleted to avoid anything similar happening, either to the BC cab or to the GR Bass once I get it back. I didn't hear any bad noises at the gig when the speaker failed, but the room we were in had a very bad resonance at low frequencies and I couldn't make out exactly what was happening on the low notes. When I put the bass into the PA, I left the Helix out completely.

About four years old - first used it somewhere round this time in 2020, used it at maybe 20 gigs since then.

Rather a shame, the top half looks lovely and if both halves were like that it could have been made into an attractive bass.
-
I'd be inclined to go for the Kala, but that's my personal view.
